Military Exchange Pulls all STANDARD Capacity Magazines

Maybe that MCX's policy, not all of them. I know that both Quantico and Lejeune sold standard P-mags before I deployed last Summer

Military Exchange Pulls all STANDARD Capacity Magazines

Interested in what you find. I get back from overseas soon I am not sure if AAFES (Army and Air Force) would affect MCCS who runs our PX's

Rifle Scopes Return to zero failures

I saw that thread too, and while I think that could be it, I also think it depends on your setup. For example, I have a gen I Razor which has a (pretty big) 35mm tube and 125 MOA of adjustment in both windage and elevation. 20MOA is less than 1/6 (17%) of the adjustment range, or less than 1/3...

    Tikka T3 Thread

I've never handled an RPR, but this is kind of what I expected. The only bolt action I've used that is comparable to my Tikka in smoothness is my Enfield, and that is a well-worn cock on closing gun.

    New bling from KRG

It will fit if the regular spigot will, but IDK if spigots fit on the enclosed forends and the pictures and instructions don't really help. It kinda seems like the enclosed forend is to be used instead of a spigot but IDK-I don't really think it'd raise the bipod and extend it farther out vs the...

    Time for a new rig.

Agreed, mine is at about 2 lbs and I have no desire for a two stage trigger. The one thing I like about the Timney is that it allows bolt manipulation with the safety on, whereas the factory one does not. I am waiting to see what the KRG trigger is like before I decide to get one or the other or...

    Time for a new rig.

This. The Tikka action is just so much more smooth than competitors. It really is competitive against rifles above its price point

In the market for my first chassis. . .could use some advice.

Bravo. I like that the stock extension does not run over the top of the hand

    New bling from KRG

Dang, I guess I'll get home from deployment before all my stuff arrives then. Oh well, I decided to refinish the barreled action on the rifle anyway so that adds a couple weeks of cure time before I can assemble it all

    New bling from KRG

Is a CTR mag the same as a TRG mag? It seems most guys buying Tikkas now are getting the CTRs, so it would make sense to let them keep the mags their rifles came with to drop them in a chassis. Mine came with the skinny, finicky to load, plastic 5 round Tikka single stacker so AICS mags are a...

    Tikka T3 Thread

I think twist rate is more important than barrel length. My 24" likes 168 gr SMKs and is a 1:11"

    Tikka T3X TAC A1

You don't need a cantilever for a bolt gun, the main reason for them is for ARs to allow proper eye relief on rifles that either have no forend rail or one that is not the same piece as the receiver rail. On bolt guns cantilevers look weird/bad IMHO. Unimounts are completely appropriate for a...

Rifle Scopes Source for gen 2 PST 5-25-50 moa

+1 Sport Optics is always great to deal with; I bought an Aimpoint Micro T-1 from them some time ago and a Vortex Razor gen 1 from them a couple weeks ago through the Vortex Mil/LE program. If you buy direct from Vortex you go tot he back of the queue, so if they have a shipment of 2000...

Rifle Scopes FFp scope under $1500

I see no reason you couldn't shoot 1000 yds with 18x, I think the reticle thickness at those distances would be a consideration depending on the scope though. I haven't shot 1500 so I am not sure about going that far with it

    Rifle Scopes Another Vortex down

If that were true they wouldn't be in business. The Tiborasaurus Rex video where he says the Primary Arms is better than the Nightforce ATACR because the Nightforce broke when he jumped on it? Yeah....great source for info

LIke I said, YMMV, apparently Tubb's do

In the market for my first chassis. . .could use some advice.

Also FWIW, I think having an AR buffer on a chassis is a chicken shit cost saving measure that shows the company didn't want to design a proper stock. Again, YMMV

In the market for my first chassis. . .could use some advice.

No disrespect to anyone here but I am not a fan of the XLR Chassis. I do not like having the stock extension going over the top of my hand on a bolt gun, which I realize many chassis do, but in addition the cheek riser is too wide and feels like resting your cheek on a coke bottle. I also think...

Rifle Scopes FFp scope under $1500

The gen 2 Razor did not have enough added features and stuff to justify the price over the gen 1 IMHO so I got a gen 1. SWFA has a 3-15x42 FFP for around $700

I don't know the exact contours but the Varmint has a heavier profile than the CTR
