After all Prep, Weighing/Sorting Loaded Rounds?

Beginners Confusion... Who's got it right?

Re: Beginners Confusion... Who's got it right? If you are shooting the 168 SMK's, it's hard to beat the 42 grs of 4064 load. For 175's, Varget and Reloader 15 are good choices. Work up your loads, especially if you don't know exactly where you are to or in the lands. Pressure can vary...

Trim to what length - really

Re: Trim to what length - really Why not just trim to SAAMI? 2.005 is minimum and 2.015 is max. No need to experiment outside of spec.

    turning necks?

Re: turning necks? I shoot a custom .308 in F Class and I neck turn all my Lapua brass. I minimally skim cut all necks to the same spec. Neck turning gives reduced runout and consistent neck tension. These two variables make a difference in any rifle's accuracy.

    Range Report Moly burnished barrel

Re: Moly burnished barrel Moly coat increases the diameter of the bullet ever so slightly and creates a tighter bullet to bore seal. Increased velocity is the result. I am not a fan of moly for some of the reasons posted above.

Range Rumor: Viht powders will"tear up" barrels?

Re: Range Rumor: Viht powders will"tear up" barrels? VV has about the same burn temp as Varget. This premise of VV burning up barrels is BS. Faster velocities create more heat which burn barrels.
