What primer for 300 Win Mag?

I used CCI 250's. Magnum primers are recommended for large powder charges and extreme cold. And it gets pretty cold around here.

    Standard for Measuring Groups?

Measure the widest point of the group, then subtract the bullet diameter, i.e. .224 for a 22 cal.

    Savage 10 fcp-sr 6.5 creedmoor

Do not use red Loctite, you will never get it apart again. Blue will work just fine.

Scales scales scales... tell me about your scale!

Never used one myself, but my buddy uses a RCBS charge master and he can outshoot me any day of the week. Personally, I'm happy with my beam scale.

    Mystery press

Definitely Lee. I use 43.1 of Varget but work up carefully in YOUR rifle. I find I get less spin drift with Stuarts.

    Marks/dents on brass

Those look like dents from the brass deflector at the rear of the ejection port. Whatever is causing you weak ejection probably changed the timing and is causing it to hit the deflector. Mine makes dents like that. It doesn't really hurt anything, but I am getting an adjustable gas block to...

    Adjustable gas block

I'll have to check this out. I also saw an adjustable gas key somewhere, anyone have experience with these?

    Adjustable gas block

Thanks for all the replies. I'll probably give the Joe Bob a shot. For $30 I am not going to cry if it only lasts a few years. It is my coyote gun so it usually sees <500 rounds a year. Anybody try a dab of anti-seize on the threads to help the seizing issue? Just a thought.

    Adjustable gas block

Once it is set I don't plan to move it again unless I get a suppressor. In that case I would readjust and leave it. What parts could fail once set? I'm not trying to cheap out, but I am finding it hard to justify that kind of money when there are other options that will work for me. If I were...

    Adjustable gas block

I'm looking for a adjustable gas block for my ar15. Right now I'm leaning towards the one from Joe Bob Outfitters for $30, but wanted to check out other options. I need a low profile to fit under the handguard (LaRue). I was looking at the SLR, but I don't plan to change it once it's set and I...

    Best Powder&Bullet for my Ar15

I've had my best results with 60 gr. V-Max's with Benchmark.

Advice for newbies from a newbie, lesson learned the rookie way!!!

Straight walled cases are a different animal than bottleneck. It is always a good idea to read the instructions for any new equipment before you use it. What kind of rifle is your friend using? If it is a lever action make sure you crimp the bullets or they will push back into the case when in...

    Rebarreling a 10fcp

Easiest and cheapest would be to have it cut down and threaded.

    Are varmint rifles, expendable?

My primary coyote rifle is a 22-250 (14 twist) shooting 50 gr v-max. I always try to call them in to inside 200 before I start throwing lead so the low BC doesn't really factor in. I really like my setup and have no plans to change, some may not agree but that is why we have such a variety of...

what ever happened with the BugNut from southern precision?

Other than aesthetics's, is there any advantage over a Remage? I've been tossing around building a 6.5 CM off a r700.

Nickel Plated Brass in Precision Rifle...?

I was given some nickel brass for my 22-250. It shoots sub-half moa with it but I can't get it to shoot with regular brass. All you can do is try it and see how it does.

Remington 700 Long Range bullet Choice

Take a look at the Berger hunting bullets. I've had good luck with them on deer out to ~500 yards, 190's out of a 300WM.

    Swarovski or Leica?

Actually, I got the Swarovski for $800 shipped from Cabela's, so the money was a dead heat. I haven't had a chance to really test it, but i was ranging those targets leaning on a car in poor ranging conditions (bright sunlight at high noon) and got hits at almost a mile. And i do believe the...

    Swarovski or Leica?

Finally got my tax refund and picked up the Swarovski. Ive just had it out once so far, but I hit a building at 1739 and a tree line at 1400 and change in bright sunlight! The glass is great too! Thanks for all the input, this was a big investment and I am not disappointed. Sent from my C771...

Rifle Scopes Buying an under $600 scope?

The Super Sniper 3-9 is right at $600 new. No experience with them, but I'm eyeing one for my spr-ish at-15. Never heard anything bad about them and you really don't need any more magnification for 308 ranges. Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2
