    Your description is that of an overloaded case. Hornady lists 41 grains as a max non redzone powder charge of Varget for their 178 Amax. Do you have a reloading manual?

    R700 7mm rem mag Sendero Accuracy Issues

    My experience with Sendero in "91 or thereabouts was that accuracy was wholly dependent on OAL. My loads were all at 3.55". Powder and cases meant nothing.It did best with AA 3100. Luck

    I did not read all of the preceding posts. I too attempted to get a custom fit and found a company that would do it if I ordered a thousand.     Range Report 136L in 6.5X284

    So i got load data from Lapua"s site. I loaded 51 grains of n560-mid low range. just a couple 'cause that's 4 grains over my 4831 load.It was about 2 feet higher than the 4831 load that I usually shoot at 1k.I have incrementally greater loads that the weather has kept me from trying.     Forget the tumbler. Get an ultrasonic. They do a superior job in 1/10 of the time.

    Faster burning powder = less recoil & less gas?

    I have not used either powder. Gas guns have a limited range of suitable powders. Slow is bad. 4064.RL15,4895 are in the range you should use.

    I got a Hornady collet puller from Sinclair. Works great. My Jamison ammo is about 15% duds so I pull'em and reprime with 215MM's.This is not a Sinclair recommendation.

    Hornady - WTF does this mean?

    It's the ammo. Hornady's 6.5 in 140's powder charge is a relatively slow powder. The chamber pressure is too high when the bolt is unlocking. Note that the Hornady manual for this cartridge lists a custom Rem. 700 as test rifle.
