    Get the howa and forget about the savage...I've got both and the howa is in a league by itself . Mine is a .308 20" heavy barrel and my best group to date is 1.006" at 300 yds...try to match that with any other maker period. Oh, and there were 4 witnesses in case you think I'm pilling your leg.

    Yes is the short answer. I've got a 30year old weatherby sporting scope that can see 30 caliber. Don't know who made the glass although I'm sure it wasn't them and it's turquoise in color. It's scuffed up now as it spent many of those years in a saddle bag atop my old mule in New Mexico

    I've got the same howa .308 20" barrel, I shoot 175 bergers with 4064 and have taken it out to 1260 with no problems other than the wind. I believe I'm right at 2560 through my chronograph so it has been subsonic for several 100 yards by the time it hits 1260. Mines in a bc stock with a rifle...

    My factory trigger was crap. Replaced it. Never said 175,s shot better at a hundred than 168 gn bullets. I occasionally let fly at a hog out here at 850 or so, the otm holds together better at that range both ballistically and terminally. Believe I said bedding it never hurt.
