    6XC opinions please

Thanks so much for the offer 6cxKY! I'm down south from you in MS but my business partner is originally a Kentucky boy. I actually have the gun and plan to shoot it this weekend. .010 off sounds like more along the lines of what I had read but the current loads are jammed. This gun's throat...

    6XC opinions please

Thanks so much for the load data 6xcKY! Can you shared the seating depth your are using to obtain these fine results? Obviously every gun is different but the loads they have run through it so far are .026 into the lands and I'm thinking I have read somewhere that Berger Hybrids (105 in this...

    6XC opinions please

Thanks so much to all who responded. The gun is already built/available, has had about 125 rounds through it and I have the opportunity to try her out first (hopefully this weekend) so all of the comments are most appreciated!

    6XC opinions please

Thinking about a 6XC and will most appreciate opinions, both pro and con. With almost no 6XC experience I have only a couple of concerns so far: I wish Norma brass wasn’t the only option (???). The 75 pieces of once fired brass that will come with the gun have a 6.5 grain weight spread. I...

New Savage 12 LRP blowing primers

If its another shallow throat issue with Savage LRPs this was recently discussed in this thread: http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-bolt-action-rifles/259855-savage-12-lrp-scratching-bullets.html My brother in law's throat was so shallow it was scratching the bullets. He had a...

    DONE with H4350

I changed H4350 lots about a month ago. Velocities spiked about 50 fps and the temps do seem to have much more of an effect on this lot than the old lot. 42.3 of this new lot is pushing 140 VLDs a little faster than 43.0 of the old lot.

    Accurate Ordnance versus GA Precision

Hey leggtowner, next door to you in Mississippi. What's "little lead time?" Where in north AL? Thanks.

Savage 110HS Precision or 5R Remington?

I agree. While I have never owned a Savage my brother in law had the same short throat issue in a 260 Savage LRP and had to get a smith to fix it. Earlier this year before we bought them I had kept telling my buddy the Rem 700 Sendero SFII was a lot of gun for the $1,200 or so and he agreed...

Savage 110HS Precision or 5R Remington?

A friend and I bought 2 brand new Remington 700 Sendero SFII 7 Mags a few months back. Neither were worth owning. His had extractor problems right out of the box and it would not shoot well, even after glass bedding and a Timney trigger installation. Right out of the box mine scratched the...

    Savage 12 LRP scratching bullets

He had a gunsmith lengthen the throat. I think he paid $120.00 to have it done. His bullet is way out there now. My 260's COAL for a 140 VLD is about 2.919 and his is .150 longer than mine (the .015 number I posted earlier was a typo).

    Savage 12 LRP scratching bullets

Thanks for posting this. I just switched lots and the same 43.0 of H4350 spiked my 260's velocity by an average of 93 FPS to 2883, and the groups got bigger. The old lot had gotten slower, from about 2815 to 2790, I assumed from humidity over time due to my garage being a sauna, so I moved the...
