    Worth Your While!

Re: Worth Your While! Didn't know the story about the son, guess there's trash in every house. Davis used to own and operate a hotel in Claremore, displayed the collection there but it quickly got too big so he got this building in '69 I think. Its 40K square ft and its full. The guy at...

    Worth Your While!

Just a heads up and I'm sure most of the Okies here already know about it but if your travels ever lead you near or you live anywhere in the vacinaty of Claremore OK, it will be well worth your while to take time to see the J.M. Davis Gun Museum. They claim to be the largest private collection...

168 or 175's for Armalite Ar10-T or National Match

Re: 168 or 175's for Armalite Ar10-T or National Match 168 SMK's are a good bullet, hard to beat them and 175's in Fed. GMM. 168's keep up (barely) to 600 or so but after that, the heavies (175/178's) simply leave them behind. I have an AR10T with 3K down the tube and an LTR with about 600...

Re: .308 Hornady 178 bthp non super performance lol...what is it about an insect on target that makes you not be able to resist. I've missed some too but when you do splatter one....it makes it all worth while. Nice groups. okie

    Powder recommendations for 308 win

Re: Powder recommendations for 308 win Others have already said it, drop the 168's and go with 175/178's...especially in a 10 twist. I like Varget with 178 gr Amax's run as long as I can from the mag in my AR10T...RL15 does very well too but I like Varget in 308s. Thats my experience and I...

Is this set up complete? Am I forgetting something

Re: Is this set up complete? Am I forgetting something My range sessions are usually about like yours count wise and your equipment is comparable to what I've been useing for 20 yrs. After you use it a while, you'll know where you may want to upgrade. I've used a lot of FGMM brass, always...

Range Report .308 Hornady 178 bthp non super performance

Re: .308 Hornady 178 bthp non super performance Be looking forward to your report Ghost. Like you, I've been using the 178 Amax's for yrs in my AR10T and LTR but after I shoot up the almost 1k or so I have, I may give the 178 hpbt match a serious try just to gain a little BC. Read some good...

Re: AR15 Wood Stocks.. Anyone know about these???????? Some of you guys crack me up and yes, it's pretty funny how old this thread is. Also funny how some will get out the Krylon and go crazy in the blink of an eye to get something which looks like shit from the beginning and will scratch...

    Sierra SMK Vs. Hornady BTHP

Re: Sierra SMK Vs. Hornady BTHP When I was young and foolish I started off listening to everyone and used the almighty 168 SMK's, didn't take me long to see my mistake. For years now I've used the 178 Amax in both my LR .308's, both are factory chambered and I feed both from the mag. I...

    Range Report 175gr or 168gr???

Re: 175gr or 168gr??? Sorry to repeat myself but....IMO and experience 168's are NO better at ANY range than a 175/178 out of a .308. Out to 500 they are comparable at best...after that, its a no brainer and the 175/178's simply walk off and leave them. Recoil difference is a non issue...
