    Tumblers

Re: Tumblers Think mine is a QT6, and while I don't have info in front of me I have/use 4# of SS media, all the 308 brass for about 2/3 full, Hot water & Dawn then LemiShine. No problems. The units are made for hard use. If in doubt contact Lortone but mine gets a workout about every 2 weeks...

    Tumblers

Re: Tumblers I used a Lortone that was about 40 yrs old (old man had it before me and only used 5 yrs)til it wore out. Bought a heavier duty model & have never looked back nor regretted. They aren't cheap but well worth the cost especially if tumbling using SS media...

    Hunting & Fishing Who uses a 50mm on a "non-tactical" hunting rifle

Re: Who uses a 50mm on a "non-tactical" hunting rifle You are referring to a 50mm Objective ? Then yes, I use one (Burris) on my Savage 99 in 308 WIN. In fact I have a VARI-X III 4.5-14 on my 10/22 !!! Well the one that got "dumped in the swamp, in that canoe mishap." Before that the 4.5-14...

How to CLEAN ?Felt padded mil/issue weapons case

Found this at a yard sale, OLD but in decent condition but looks like a cat or many dogs slept on it. How do you clean felt & canvas case? Case/bag is NOT parachute weapons case. This thing folds out flat. Previous owner cut part of canvas off for something ? Straps are missing. Any ideas ? Thanks

    First precision rimfire.

Re: First precision rimfire. Then find a stock/used 10/22 & add Volquartsen barrel & Kidd trigger & bolt. As for keeping it around $1500 ... can't help there. I'd go with a quality Burris or old Leupold (as in VARI-X III scope). The 10/22 I had ("Before boating accident in swamp")had the...

    195hornady match, .308

Re: 195hornady match, .308 Not for 195 gr but I do have a load using the 2000MR & either Berger or Lapua 185s w/ Lapua brass. Start at 46.0gr . Alliant site posts a Max of 46 something for a 185 SP. I found in my 26" tube that I get to 600 using almost 4-5 MOA (depending on temp). Hope that...

Maggie’s M1A .."Sniper" really stretches the limits .......

Re: M1A .."Sniper" really stretches the limits ....... Add on... not w/ 308 but shooting a 338 (actually 2 of them) AR platforms... fired a bunch of rounds at 600 one day and shot using brake & not using brake . Major difference. IF it helps control recoil (perceived or otherwise) try/use it.

Re: M1A .."Sniper" really stretches the limits ....... Yessir & back in the day I had a Ruger 22LR that "Looked" like a normal 678 Match but was quiet as hell with correct fodder !!! Maggie’s M1A .."Sniper" really stretches the limits .......

Re: M1A .."Sniper" really stretches the limits ....... Good points. On the other hand I'd take an AR10. I didn't carry the 14 in the field like you (at least not as much)mostly match ranges & the reason I'd go AR is almost simple ... you don't stick out like a sore M1 thumb with a different...

Re: M1A .."Sniper" really stretches the limits ....... NORINCO M14s also won't take American sight parts either ... unless you want to re-thread everything. Not all of the ChiCom 14s had "soft" receivers. Ken, with all the changes of the UP modded 14s and the improvements of the AR10...

Re: M1A .."Sniper" really stretches the limits ....... Somewhere in my cluttered & misplaced "Library" is a copy of the "Leatherneck Manual" circa 1960 . Lots of neat info for a teenager back then. Do they still have such a manual now ? That Safety Tang IIRC is covered in there.
