Rifle Scopes Hmmm...there's something not right with this Vortex PST

I wonder what it could be? Off to Vortex it goes tomorrow.

    Laser dry fire training system?

I just picked up the Laserlyte system. I've only used it for an hour to practice off hand so far, but initial impressions are good. You'll need the 223 laser and 308 sleeve. I dremeled off the rim of the sleeve so that I could charge my ar without it ejecting. The target records your...

Disappointed with BCM 18" SPR barrel

Ball ammo is meant to be minute of man. Anyone claiming that they *consistently* get sub 3 moa with it is most likely full of it. Once upon a time, there was a user of ARFCOM that performed very thorough tests (Collected posts by MOLON). You can review it to see what some of his findings were...

Rifle Scopes If you could go back in time....

I think David hit the nail on the head. Each person on here would go back and buy X based on preferences developed over years of handling various optics and equipment, then coming to a decision based on what they think they need and can justify. For some, they may find that they can never...

Rifle Scopes Poll - Scopes you have used and scopes you have broken.

Maybe the format would be better suited if it was in a spreadsheet? Columns would be: Scope MFG, Model, Round Count, Time Owned, Has it Broken?, Time to Break, Problem, Primary Caliber, SH Username, Comments. People could fairly easily list all of their scopes without going through pages of...

Rifle Scopes Poll - Scopes you have used and scopes you have broken.

Nikon? What about adding time owned and time to failure?

How about a DPMS SASS 308 with a Magpul CTR stock to try and save weight. Wow that thing was unbalanced and unwieldy:

    308 dmr optics

The march 3-24x would meet your needs. The IOR 3-18 would also as well, even though it's a little on the heavier side at 28oz.

Rifle Scopes Review: 2.5-10x32 Vortex Viper PST FFP

I wanted to dig up this old thread to briefly add my experience with the new 2.5-10x32 Vortex. I'm was not a very big fan of the Vortex glass (based on my experience with a SFP 6-24x and a 2.5-10x44) so I was hesitant to purchase this scope, but needed something as a temporary piece until my...

Rifle Scopes Are rings really better than a scope mount?

I have no idea if this affected accuracy but I was able to flex a Larue Mount by grabbing the scope and rail and lightly squeezing. With simple TPS aluminium rings, even if I try, I can't get the scope to budge.

Have you tried factory FGMM 175 rounds to compare as a baseline?

Rifle Scopes NF vs. Vortex vs. S&B

If you hunt on low magnification, ffp reticle can be very hard to see.

carbon fiber stocks from evil empire

Is there a possibility of getting these with a UD layer on top, so it has a matte black look? Also, to address concerns about balance, what about leaving a pocket in the rear where one can place lead weights? It sounds counterintuitive to want to do this, but it's something F1 has been doing...

One rifle and only one rifle

The choices listed in this thread are not going to be very meaningful (or maybe more accurately: applicable) to anyone but the person that lists their choice. Each person has a variety of factors that go into their decision, including weighing the expected uses they foresee. One person may never...

    Lets be honest..

The same could be said for nearly any high end item. Why buy a Ferrari 458 when you can get a Nissan GTR for a third of the price? Why buy a $3K S&B when you can get a Vortex for significantly less? It comes down to actually holding and using those items when it becomes apparent why they are so...

Anyone Use The Surefire MB762-211C On Their AR 10?

It's one of the best "conventional" looking brakes in reducing recoil. I've used the PWS, POF 3 port and most recently the ops inc and the SureFire is hands down my favorite. I'm currently debating right now if I want to deviate from the MK12 look of my MATEN to put a SureFire on instead of the...

CQC 25/50/75/100yard, 20round only, iron / red-dot / 6xMAX only, king of the hill SHOOTOUT

I think Service match guys would say that the extra weight would be beneficial if holding the rifle correctly. Bone support. Speaking of that, should shooting jackets be excluded from use?

Need help with ar 308 build, Trying to keep it light and accurate

I think that's a great start. Adjustable gas block is a very good idea. If the Noveske was 16", I'd say get the Noveske hands down. If you're fine with losing 1.5", then go with the Noveske. It has a better reputation of being consistently accurate (less chance of a dud). Just to add, if you...

    Mega MATEN cycling issues

It seems like your issue is more than the "it just needs to break in issue" that my brother and I had with our builds. Both of ours would cycle fine with 168gr FGMM for 20-30 rounds then begin to fail locking back. Less than 168gr experienced cycling issues a lot sooner. It wasn't until about...
