Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 itch. Sig, Kimber, DW, Colt options

I own Sig, Colt, Kimber, Dan Wesson, Springfield, Norinco and STI 1911's (Well, the STI is a 2011 that I built myself). I've also shot multiple models of all of the above that friends own. Get the Dan Wesson unless you want more capacity and then get an STI. It's not that any of them are bad...

    Why does KRG hate me?

You can usually contact FedEx and have the package held at either the FedEx hub or a FedEx "store". All the local "stores" here are Walgreens pharmacies. I had the problem over the holidays. I had a package sent to the office, but the building was shut down. I redirected the shipment to the...

    MPA action screws loosening ...

He did replace the screws. The MPA nordlock replacements come with new (slightly longer) screws and locking washers (nord lock style).

    MPA action screws loosening ...

Rocksett isn't really any stronger than blue locktite, it's just higher temp. I'm just mentioning this so you don't have to order Rocksett if you don't already have some laying around. I'd probably just use blue for action screws if I needed to. With either, degrease both the screw and action...

    ARC Nucleus or Bighorn Origin

Can't go wrong with either as far as I'm concerned. You can pick up the ARC Nucleus version 1.1 for $795 right now, which is a sweet deal. They are unifying a few features between the Archimedes and Nucleus, so they partially modified the older 1.0 version a bit and are selling them cheaper...

BATFE Official Announcement on Franklin Armory Reformation

It's almost like the ATF makes up rules as they go. It's not a shotgun because of XYZ, but we are calling it a shotgun until we can make something up to make it NFA even though it's not, by definition of law an NFA SBS, so we will call it GCA/SBS blah blah blah.

    Suppressors AAC or TBAC ?

I would get something with a better mounting system than the AAC. Their ratchet mount can be a little wobbly sometimes. Not enough to cause a baffle strike, but enough that it could cause accuracy issues. It worked great in its day, but there are a ton better options out there now. They can also...

    Let's talk adjustable gas blocks...

Just a thought... Isn't this how the AR-15 works? The spring (action spring) holds the valve (The bolt with gas rings) closed until the valve clears the appropriate section of the carrier allowing gas to escape through the body of the carrier and through the gas ports on the side of the carrier...

Can someone measure a KAC URX4 handguard for me?

Here you go... I'm assuming you need OD? 8.5" URX4 I held the tape kind of tight to the top of the rail, so it's as minimum of a measurement as I could get.

Google maps (Speed Trap Ahead) and other notifications

Google owns WAZE. It wouldn't surprise me if they just integrated the data into Google Maps, sharing the road hazard data.

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 .22 conversion kit with threaded muzzle?

I've had two different Marvel Unit 1's over the years. The first one I had extended and threaded. The second came threaded. Both were great shooters. Not the cheapest option though. I built up a 1911 lower specifically for these uppers.

LongRifles, Inc- Received my bolts back

That looks awesome. LRI does some great work. I've only bought a pre-fit barrel from them, but they were great to deal with and even did a custom profile for me (reflex silencer mount)

    2 stage R700 triggers

I have a CE 2 stage on an ARC Nucleus and a Rem 700. The rem 700 had cock on close that I had to fix, but on the ARC Nucleus, it's fine. I also have the Timney 2 stage on my RPR. All three triggers have functioned great and I like the feel. I can't really compare them to B&A or Tubb, etc as I...

Talk me out of this. Buying a stock remington 700 6.5 cm receiver and putting it in a magpul pro stock.

Man, you missed a sale. APO had factory 700's in 308 and 6.5CM in one of their chassis last week for $750 (not the snipers hide one) Even the normal price is in line with what you are looking for (less than $1400). For me though, I'd get an Origin, a prefit barrel, a trigger and the KRG Bravo or...

I wet tumble my stainless baffles with SS pins. I don't tumble my aluminum baffles. I just use chemicals that are aluminum safe and brushes/picks as needed.

    Ballistic AE vs AB

I have both and prefer AB. Primarily because you can input and exact range rather than just get a drop table. I usually deal with known disatances and/or LRF targets. So, I know the exact range. AB (and Strelok Pro, etc) allow you to put in the exact range and get the result. They also produce a...
