Looking for a Good Rifle Case (Soft)

Re: Looking for a Good Rifle Case (Soft) Check out the various Eagle cases at Natches. It's a little hard to navagiate, btw, but there are a bunch of different versions/colors: http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=EYDCM16AR15R&src=sim I have both a Discreet...

    Rangefinder- need suggestions

Re: Rangefinder- need suggestions I'm seeing the Leica 1600 discounted by up to $150 right now. I assume they are clearing stock to make room for the new 1600-B. I don't own either right now, but am very interested in how well the ballistics software works in the new model (claimed to work...

Rifle Scopes USO Dual Foca Plane

Re: USO Dual Foca Plane kombayotch, The center dot is noticeable all the time and at any power/illum level on my 1.5-6 DPF. At 6x it's a 1 MOA dot, which is thicker than the FFP cross-hair. Joe

    FAL Rifle w/Match Grade Ammo?????????

Re: FAL Rifle w/Match Grade Ammo????????? Get your head space checked or check it yourself before running any hot thin walled .308. Should be fine though. Out of a dozen or so I've never been able to beat good surplus 7.62, with 144 gr 7.62 Aussie F4 Ball generally shooting good (2 MOA +/-)...

Rifle Scopes Need a 600y recommendation for a 556 SPR

Re: Need a 600y recommendation for a 556 SPR 20" steel at 600 Yds is a pretty big target; a 1.5-5 Mk 4 will work fine for that and is compact and light weight. For 800 Yds, something with 10x on the upper end (including the NF 2.5-10x32) will be a major benefit. My MOA/MOA NP-R2 2.5-10x NF...

DD Lightweight RECCE-ish build...Dope look right?

Re: DD Lightweight RECCE-ish build...Dope look right? Just interpolating between your data using 2,640 fps and my 77 gr Nosler at 2,700 (JBM and actual)- you are in the ballpark. Air pressure for your altitude and actual MV can change things quite a bit at longer ranges of course.

Kowa 600 Series Prominar or Pentax PF80 ED?

Re: Kowa 600 Series Prominar or Pentax PF80 ED? in-range, Excellent thread (and what sold me) on the Manfrotto standing/prone stuff here: http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2992434

Kowa 600 Series Prominar or Pentax PF80 ED?

Re: Kowa 600 Series Prominar or Pentax PF80 ED? Love it, but others could answer you better on the prone setup - it should work well. You can find some pics with a prone setup - one is in a Leupold Spotter thread. I shot from the bench Monday with the bipod set up to the left of my table...

Kowa 600 Series Prominar or Pentax PF80 ED?

Re: Kowa 600 Series Prominar or Pentax PF80 ED? I was unable to check out the Kowa Prominar - wish I could have. The Pentax came in for a little < $1k delivered, which was a help since I put $300+ into a tripod and head. I made it to the range yesterday with the Pentax PF80-ED, Manfrotto...

PMAG's Opinions on Feeding & Function

Re: PMAG's Opinions on Feeding & Function The AR15 20 rounders I bought had a few feeding issues and at least one would let a round partially pop out when inserting into the magwell. No issues with the 30 rounders, but no more PMAG 20s for me. I've never had a malfunction with my Lancer 20...

Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-R Patrol 3-9x40mm First Impressions

Re: Leupold VX-R Patrol 3-9x40mm First Impressions Interesting review so far. I've been considering the 3x9 Patrol for a 3-Gun FAL due to the lighter weight and (hoped far) ability to shoot at longer distances. Please post your thoughts after it's had some range time - good, bad or ugly, as...

Are SA tactical shotguns good for trap and skeet?

Re: Are SA tactical shotguns good for trap and skeet? Heavier gas guns with longer (28-30") barrels works best for me for Clays, be it skeet, sporting clays or trap. Love my Beretta 391 Sporting. But I can shoot my 3-Gun stick, a 22" Benelli M1-S90 almost as well for skeet or casual 5 Stand...

    Zeiss Victory 8 x 26 T PRF -Camera Land - Review

Re: Zeiss Victory 8 x 26 T PRF -Camera Land - Review I went to the Zeiss site and looked at the ballistics feature. I does not give you the "dope" in mils or moa. It only gives the amount of holdover (in inches or cm) for hunting situations.

Rifle Scopes Spotting scopes that won't break the bank?

Re: Spotting scopes that won't break the bank? Lots of discussion in the Observation Device subforum. I'm about to pull the trigger on a Pentax PF80 ED and then pony up on a 1st rate bipod and head (Manfrotto 005XPROB / 322RC2).

    Zeiss Victory 8 x 26 T PRF -Camera Land - Review

Re: Zeiss Victory 8 x 26 T PRF -Camera Land - Review Nice review. I'm interested in hearing how well the ballistics feature works. Also if you are able to verify range accuracy on ranges with known (longish) distances such as your shooting range.
