Movie Theater America - Imagine the World without her

Hoping to see it this weekend, heard it is definitely worth seeing. I saw an interview with Dinesh D'Souza and was impressed. Should be worth the price of admission...and some Red Vines too! ;)

    True sportsamanship

I mostly agree, the guy getting beat could have given up at any time. It's kind of a beat down to the guys pride.

    Are 2006 H3 Hummers junk?

Are H3 Hummers junk?...apparently they are. Would be interesting how they rate in Consumer Reports. Haven't owned one or a Jeep but knew a guy with an H2, friend of a friend, and he was always complaining about it constantly being in the shop. This guy here though has to put in a vote for...

    Rifle improvements

Sounds like you have a pretty good setup already. Not much you can do to make it better, just a few things to customize or personalize it for your tastes like a different stock, cerakote, etc. But again, these would be lateral changes and won't necessarily make it more accurate. Reloading...

    Ear plugs

One more vote for the Surefire, but I use the EP5's. They don't have the opening to allow you to hear around you, but they provide more protection. I also wear ear muffs over them for extra protection--Seen too many old timers with hearing loss.

I have another question regarding optmal scope magification for 200 yard shooting.

Also remember that with higher magnification comes more pronounced mirage. Sometimes, lower magnification can be your friend. Just depends on the conditions. Good Luck!

Help me build a .30-06 load for this rifle. New to precision hand loading...

Yeah, it's a good system. FWIW, a published max load of IMR 4350 has worked well for me for the 150-180 grain bullets. Hodgdon Hybrid 100V worked well for the 180 grain bullet, did not try it with any other weight bullets.

Why is a .308 bruising my shoulder???

A couple things come to mind… 1. Make sure the rifle is against your shoulder and not slamming or jumping back. 2. A good recoil pad can make a lot of difference. I personally like the one inch Limbsaver pads, they seem to be a little softer than some of the others. 3. May want to...

Help me build a .30-06 load for this rifle. New to precision hand loading...

OCW Overview - Dan Newberry's OCW Load Development System The only way to develop a precision load for your rifle is to do your own load development. The Dan Newberry OCW load development system is probably the most consistent method.

How to build good copper equilibrium in a barrel?

I also agree with what the above guys said about barrel break in being a waste of time. When you think about what a barrel break in is supposed to accomplish it just doesn't make any sense. I've never done a barrel break in procedure, and my rifles shoot pretty darn good! And I usually only...

New 700LTR 308. Why such a long throat? How far to set the bullet? Pressure?

Hey Seattle Dude, I have a .308 that also has a very long throat, very similar to yours, and I've found with the SMK's that I still get very good accuracy seating the bullet to magazine length, which is around 2.840" or so, which gives it something like .080" of jump (approximate numbers)...

    newbie first group

Way to go! I also agree with the above posters that horizontal stringing can be caused by muscling or steering your rifle over to your target. Natural point of aim (NPOA) is essential to precision shooting. If I could make a couple suggestions that may save you quite a bit of time, money...

    Atlas Bi-Pod Junk???

Junk...not how I would describe the Atlas. But, it is certainly different than say a Harris. FWIW, the first group I shot with the Atlas, which was at about 545 yards, was actually the best group I ever shot at that distance. Kinda one of those anomalistic groups. I had previously been using...
