    I'd add about $300 to your rifle budget and get a scar-17s. Without doubt one of the best rifles at the $2.3k-$2.5k range: very low recoil (probably one of the lowest recoil for it's weight), light (definitely the lightest .308 DMR), and reliable (runs in about any condition).

    Direct impingement vs piston right? We're not shooting sub-moa or precision, so it won't matter. We're just talking about shooting steel targets, and not talking about reliability. Just hitting some targets at 300-400 yards.
