Solid 300 yd group with .308

That rifle seems to be very consistent and that's what we all want. The groups look great. Keep working it...Krieger makes good barrels. You can always massage powder charges based on weather and shrink them even more!

That's good to know..and understandable as well. I'm considering the the 85 vs. the Kowa Prominar 88. I just can't decide. One thing is for sure....they're both very expensive. I've heard the Kowa has great glass as well. But Swaro's and Big Eyes has to be the ultimate in viewing.

Rifle Scopes best way to zero a scope

I use a sturdy rest, try to pick a nice non windy day to zero. Then I prefer to shoot on mildly windy days from then on.

Solid 300 yd group with .308

That is an excellent group. Did you say that you shot it off a bipod or from bags? Great job!

I have to say that your informative posts had made my mind up on selection and I had decided to stick with a conventional spotter. Then I watched your video and I'm not so sure. That image quality is nothing short of amazing. I have looked through high end spotters many times at many rifle...

    Rifle Scopes Mst 100 bdc

Great idea! Does 900" represent the bullet's first line of sight crossing and put you on at 300 yards?

    Tele Vue 85 Experiences

CanPopper, this information is exactly what I was looking to know about these telescopes. I was very curious about the inverted images and how quality is effected to have correct images. I had read alot about the Tele Vue glass and image sharpness but no real comparisons with spotters on typical...

Does anyone here have any experience with one of these telescopes and how they compare with the high end spotters of today? Thanks.

    Rifle Scopes Mst 100 bdc

I agree, Gunny. I have several benchrest rifles in both light and heavy gun varieties that really shoot well, but this 40 is just a super rifle and my favorite as well. I hope I can get a good zero with it because I know I'll enjoy shooting it. You've been a huge help and I appreciate it.

    Rifle Scopes Mst 100 bdc

Yes guys, this information is huge. I am outside Richmond VA and 1.5 hours from Quantico. I have shot on Range 4 at Quantico several times during benchrest 1000 yard matches. These figures will get me close, but as Gunny advised...I've seen zeroes change from morning to afternoon by a great deal...

Rifle Scopes Average MOA angle for rail/base for .300 Win mag @ 1,000 yards?

20 MOA and I was slightly high at 100 yards. I guess it depends on the individual scope but 20MOA is more than enough.

    Finished my .300 WIN MAG

Very nice, indeed. The old fashioned 300WM is truly hard to beat as a long range round. When you find what it likes, you'll be very happy. I've had good luck with the Sierra 200's as well. An older bullet design, but still a good one when you get a good batch. Good luck!

will i need more than a 20moa to get too 1000 yrds?

Yes, I think a 20MOA base or rings is all you'll need. I favored a badger picatinny 20 MOA base since they were well made and fit the actions well.

Rifle Scopes zeroing a pst ffp

I frequently use 20 MOA rings and on some rifles the best I can do is an inch or two high at 100 yards with the elevation turret at the bottom of travel. Others will still zero dead on at 100 yards. My guess is that you'll be high at 100 at first based on where you said the turret is sitting.

Okay Gunny...sounds good. I'll find that and give it a good look. Thanks..

    Rifle Scopes Mst 100 bdc

Gunny,if I fire at 300 yards and get on paper....can I move up to 100 yards or some distance where I can see the bullet holes and dial the scope to the holes with the scope still set on the 300 yard turret and get the initial zero? Or would that make it way off due to the distances being different?

    Rifle Scopes Mst 100 bdc

Thanks so much for the tips. I appreciate the advice. I am concerned about getting a good initial zero since the bullet hole can't be seen at 300 yards. So moving the scope will be guess work. I didn't know that the scope will move that much with such tiny adjustments, so that tip is a huge one...

    Rifle Scopes Mst 100 bdc

Great information Gunny! I don't know that I had ever read that. I have one that I need to get zeroed and I want to get the load set as close as possible to get the most out of the BDC. I know that getting that first shot on paper and setting the first zero at 300 yards can be a pain. Thanks for...

    Rifle Scopes Mst 100 bdc

I thought it was somewhere in there. Using a 175g bullet, I guess a minor adjustment will be needed. I've heard that in that scope, the BDC does work reasonably well. Thanks for your help.
