Crye makes great pants, in a couple of different variations, give them a look. Pretty much all I wear these days. Be safe, FourNineThree

Hunting & Fishing 2018 South Africa hunting trip

Jason, A good question about family and one that should be looked at carefully. I have not hunted South Africa, but I have hunted Namibia for plains game, twice with the same outfitter, Jan Oelofse Safaris. I cannot say enough good things about the man (RIP), his family, PH's, staff and...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 magazines

Ballistic Artist, Seems like everyone has already hit you with Tripp, great choice. For what it is worth we issue the CMC mags with our 1911's and they seem to run with little to no issues. That said, I run Tripp and have never had an issue with them in a pistol. In my Colt M45 (CQBP) I am...

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 Favorite Front and Rear Sight

Any of the 10-8 sights are good, Heine as well. I use both, as well as the Heirloom Precision "retro" sight, which is rather simple. Tritium is getting phased out on my pistols and the gold bead is the way to go for me. Be safe, FourNineThree

Rifle Scopes Bushnell ERS 3.5-21x50 review.

Great job on video. Just received one on Monday and placed it atop a rifle this morning. Thanks for the tutorial on the zero-stop! Be safe, FourNineThree

Sidearms & Scatterguns Colt Marine Pistol?

bluto77, Recoil seems a bit different, perhaps a little softer, but it is a bit heavier so that may account for the difference in felt recoil? Shooting Federal 45D, 230 grain JHP exclusively and it handles just fine, hammer pairs, NSR's and anything else you want to shoot. I can shoot a few...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Colt Marine Pistol?

Smokerroller, Thank you for posting these up! Parker13, I'm not sure when Colt will start releasing these out to dealers. They originally said that 80 a month would be released to dealers across the US, but I am not sure if any have truly come out of the factory. They are still busy...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Colt Marine Pistol?

Smokerroller, PM back and a handful of emails out to you. Thank you for posting, greatly appreciated. I can always take more photos if anyone is interested. Tried to capture the major parts of the CQB Pistol and what might be different or added. If anyone has any questions, please let me...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Colt Marine Pistol?

Gosu, That actually made me laugh, good one. On a serious note, who can I email photos to so they can be added to this post. At work on a neutered computer and am unable to post. PM, email or post an address and I will send them out. Took a few photos of the overall weapon, markings...

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 mag recommendation

The Mc Cormick Power Mag or Power Mag+ are good to go and should not break the bank. Tripp Cobra magazines are pretty insane, but are pricey. The Tripp mags have functioned flawlessly in quite a few different 1911 platforms I am running. Good luck in the hunt. Be safe, FourNineThree

    Bolt carrier cleaning tools

Just about any good cleaner will work. Apply, let it work and wipe down. No need to buy tools that "scrape" carbon away, as round one after cleaning will add carbon right back to said parts. We use MPro-7 on our range and it cleans as well as needed. Be safe, FourNineThree

Sidearms & Scatterguns Colt Marine Pistol?

I will be back in the office tomorrow and will snap some photos of the pistol and internals. As far as a range report, only about 1,000 rounds thus far, no issues whatsoever. The ambi-safety was not fully fitted, but two quick and light passes with a file had it fit perfectly. The weapon is a...

Sidearms & Scatterguns three pistols back from updates :D glock/1911

Good parts and good work too. Great base guns, especially the beauty in the foreground. You using gold beads on the front? Can't tell completely, but looks that way?

Fieldcraft Military or LEO Snipers What Chest Rig is USED ?

Have used Original SOE Gear, Eagle and now Blue Force Gear. Shedding more gear as the years go on (LE), but have enough essentials for what I am doing. Three mag pouches, medium utility and a dump pouch off to the side. Be safe, FourNineThree

    Sniper/observer sidearm carry?

Scout1775, Take a look at setting up a holster on a chest-rig. Saw this a few times and decided to give it a try, that is where my pistol resides these days. As far as shooting from a prone position I can count on one hand, and have a finger or two left over, how may times I have actually...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Colt Marine Pistol?

The weapon uses the Series 80 fire control components and most, if not all, of the internals receive a Boron Nitride coating. Weapon is heavier and a bit beefier than the current Colt Rail Gun (CRG). Markings are different and it is being shipped with a Wilson seven (7) round magazine. Have...

Hunting & Fishing First hog hunt

Re: First hog hunt The damage looks decent, but seems like more should have been done to the lung. If I knew how to post pics I show what was left of the heart of the one I shot last week, the left lung was mush in the upper chest area. Complete pass through, but a very small exit wound...
