Help fellas. I've created a monster.

The Steiner's place is on my 7 Practical. Too much gun for her right now. I pulled it off because it was the easiest mount to put back. If I could afford another scope of that quality I would by all means do so. The kid is not neglected I promise lol. She's been behind a thermal since she was 6...

Help fellas. I've created a monster.

So here's the problem. My daughter has been shooting for several years now but back in March we had a little can shoot with the church to raise money for the boy's home. She wanted to go so I fixed her up a little Ruger American Ranch in 223. No decent scope was available on such a short...

My first attemp at sponge camo.

This is an old Glenfield Model 30A that was in pretty rough shape. I decided to use it as my guinea pig for the sponge camo treatment. I couldn't find any natural sponge locally so I just used some regular dish sponge that I tore into useable pieces...

    308 build barrel questions.

Re: 308 build barrel questions. I got ya. I am going to start with a 26 inch barrel and if its just too long I can cut it off. Its just so dang hard to add length to one thats too short. Thanks for the input. I will keep that in mine. Any of you have any experience with the Ruger Gunsite...

Help choose a single purpose rifle...

Re: Help choose a single purpose rifle... I messed the less optics and bipod. If i had 2000 to spend on a stock rifle it would surely be the 40XB.

Help choose a single purpose rifle...

Re: Help choose a single purpose rifle... Im with bward. A Savage 6br would be my choice at those ranges. Accuracy and consistency of the BR is hard to beat.

what off the shelf match 308 in a 700p

Re: what off the shelf match 308 in a 700p Federal GMM and Hornady Match have worked great for me in the past. The Georgia Arms match stuff used to shoot really great and couldn't tell any difference in accuracy between it and their ultra match ammo. I don't know how it performs now haven't...

    savage model12

Re: savage model12 Nothing wrong with the Savage choice. The ones I have shoot great. They have a great trigger from the factory which is a bonus. For the cheaper route I wouldn't hesitate on a Savage at all. The custom route is more expensive for sure but very gratifying.

    308 build barrel questions.

Re: 308 build barrel questions. 850-900 realistic. I shoot my 308 that I have now out to 1000 on a regular basis and I am confident at that distant. But in field conditions I would not expect max effective range to be the same as range conditions. Just wondering why you asked this...
