    Gunsmithing Which Depth Micrometer?

Re: Which Depth Micrometer? I have several sets. Starret, Brown and Sharpe, Lufkin, and Fowler. They are all good sets. Never had a problem with any of them. Some have different size bases for different applications. I prefer the old Lufkin, but that is because it was my first set. I have...

    Gunsmithing Lapping rings

Re: Lapping rings I purchased my alignment sets from Midway. The sets were made by Wheeler. They work fine for me. It has two pieces with points for checking alignment. And one long piece for lapping. The long rod is harder than just regular stock. So it does not wear as quickly. And is has a...

    Gunsmithing leveling lathe

Re: leveling lathe I still think that it dependes on what machine you have. A good small lathe should be fine setting securely to a work bench. Larger and longer machines need adjusted to make sure that isn't any twist. But perfectly level is not the only way. Normally, I level one slightly...

    Gunsmithing leveling lathe

Re: leveling lathe I think that depends on the size of your lathe. In my experience, small lathes with short beds are normally okay. Lathes with longer beds are the problem. A lathe could machine standing up as long as the bed is true to the headstock.

Gunsmithing Stock mod on a AR50 to add a rear monopod

Re: Stock mod on a AR50 to add a rear monopod I shoot off a bench at the range. With the bipod that I have, there wasn't enough room for a monopod under the rear stock. So, I made one that mounts in front of the trigger. It attaches to the t-slot. And it has plenty of adjustment room. I don't...

Re: thought on takarev? Hey Sick, I checked with the pawn shop all he has now is the CZ52. They shoot the 7.62x25 Tokarev round also. He does ship if you are interested in buying one.

    Suppressors thought on takarev?

Re: thought on takarev? Check out The Sportman's Guide. 1260 rounds of 7.62 X 25 Tokarev in sealed can for $119.97 or join the club and pay $113.97. I have shot about 300 rounds and have not had a dud. A pawn shop here in town has 3 or 4 if you cannot find one somewhere else.

    Suppressors thought on takarev?

Re: thought on takarev? I have one. I have shot about 300 rounds through it. It is not a tack driver but I have never had a jam. And, I quick fire often just playing around. I had several to choose from and just picked the one that looked the best. It appeared to have very little wear. Good Luck

Suppressors Quaility of SA 1911-A1 GI 5" green armory kote

I am looking for a good 1911. I am not looking to spend in the thousands. I would like something for 5 to 6 hundred. It must be a full size 1911 style 45. A friend has a SA 1911-A1. It seems like a good gun but I have not shot it enough to know how good it is. I want to know if others have had...
