    Photos Win 70 - WSM Inletting vs S/A .308

Top is a FN-PBR (McMillan A-3) Bottom is a Factory WSM stock. The WSM will bolt right in BUT, the PBR uses a 1 piece DBM floorplate. You'll need to inlet the PBR stock for the center action bolt. A standard floorplate will not cover the whole magazine inletting.

Nikon P-223 3x32 BDC on Dedicated Upper? Y/N?

Re: Nikon P-223 3x32 BDC on Dedicated Upper? Y/N? Regardless of the name, durability is going to be an issue on a $100 scope. 3x makes it real easy to hide poor quality glass and sloppy adjustments. Buyer beware.

    Savage 93 FV-SR or Ruger 10-22

Re: Savage 93 FV-SR or Ruger 10-22 I've had a dozen 10/22 over the years. None has ever been as much fun as my savage. Set it up with a 20 moa base from egw and a 25 x scope and you won't even remember why you wanted a 10/22.

Gunsmithing Win70 receiver mod and stock question

Re: Win70 receiver mod and stock question A little over my head since I've never worked with the AICS mags, But... The Win 70 magazine design doesn't give much room to play around since any repositioning of the mag feed lips side to side or front to back will cause feeding problems. Now if...

    Knee replacement questions

Re: Knee replacement questions I ran my own special trans business for 7 years. I hauled medically and mentally disabled clients to their medical appointments and back home again. 99% of Doctors don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. Alot of your mobility questions will depend...

Planning a rifle assembly, appreciate thoughts

Re: Planning a rifle assembly, appreciate thoughts No disrespect intended but I'm confused: Are you building a Hunting rifle or a Target rifle? Hunting: Savage Hog Hunter and call it a day. Target: well, this IS Sniper's hide....XD

Re: 1903-A3 and 1903-A4 Rifles Available @ Creedmoor Fine piece of artillery. Even if it's a clone, anyone with any sense of history would be proud to have that in their rack.

    Thoughts on new gun ?

Re: Thoughts on new gun ? If you're going to chop the barrel, why spend the extra $ for a varmint rig? Unless you're deer are over 300 yds out, stick with the lw barrel and smaller stock. Your knees will thank you.

    Savage 93 Help, concernes

Re: Savage 93 Help, concernes I agree with Jes629. Practice stripping and reassembling a couple of times and see if the problem is consistant. The 93 uses a stamped/stacked bottom assembly and it's possible that something isn't assembled correctly to let the trigger go back far enough to...

What kind of paint for a naked Mcrees stock?

Re: What kind of paint for a naked Mcrees stock? I wouldn't paint an outhouse with Krylon, it'd lower the value. Get 3 cans of carb cleaner, wire coat hanger, face mask, and rubber gloves. That's your prep. I'd then choose Rustoleum epoxy. HOSE off the stock with the carb cleaner and...

    stock on Winchester M70

Re: stock on Winchester M70 Sorry dude: Yes, your stuck buying a stock specifically for a WSM action. WSM is roughly 1/2" longer bolt spacing and feels wider but I haven't measured it yet. Tactical Liquidators carries McMillan blanks that you can have inletted specifically for your action...

Win Model 70 300 WSM problem

Re: Win Model 70 300 WSM problem Define "feeding smoothly"... I'd hazard a guess that a rough chamber would've needed to be polished out or a tight throat might have needed to be opened up a bit. Thank god FN is running Winchester now, I'm expecting good things in the coming years...

    Savage FV-SR

Re: Savage FV-SR FYI... 1) You'll want the 10rd mags really quick since it only comes with one 5rd. 2) EGW makes the factory base and a 20 MOA version - Get the 20 MOA version...XD 3) There are a couple of crosspins in the receiver that can cause accuracy problems, feel free to grind them...
