Sidearms & Scatterguns issues with a springfield TRP 1911

Dented brass is about timing and ejection. Basically the slide and/or barrel is catching the brass as it ejects. Sometimes a different spring weight can change the slide speed but most likely you need to change the ejection angle so the brass makes it out without hitting the back of the slide...

    Single Stage vs Progressive Reloading

A +/- .4 variance is more than I want to deal with. I went to a ball powder and I get the same .1-.2 variances I get using TAC and CFE for .223 as I get with my pistol rounds on my 550.

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 barrel question?

Generally it's about 50fps per inch but it will vary depending on the gun and the load.

First time out shooting my Rem 700...

Search bolt knobs. A number of companies like Phoenix Custom Rifles can install an extended bolt knob that can help with the spacing. I'd also recommend not thinking in clicks. If you have to dial 10MOA then just dial the number. As you shoot more you probably wont have time to count clicks...

    Pissed at Hornady.........Maybe!

Ream the primer pocket or swage it. For one case I would just toss it but at some point you may want to spend a few bucks for a reamer.

    Value on older HK rifles?

That's what I'm seeing in AZ. I saw a couple of well used 91s in the 1500-1800 range late last year at the local gun shows.

Rifle Scopes Question about switching scopes between rifles

When you move the scope from rifle to rifle you will most likely have to re-zero. Even if you move the base and the scope together its likely that the screw holes won't be drilled exactly the same or that the rifles will shoot to exactly the same POI.

Best digital scale to use ?

"Best" is subjective. Dillon, RCBS, and Lyman make good accurate digital scales.

I cracked the trigger guard on my Remington 700

Technically it's Bottom metal with a Detachable Magazine as opposed to the ADL which is an internal mag or BDL which is internal with a bottom hinge for unloading.

    New remington 700

Impressive. AE is not known to produce sub MOA ammo.

    Cfe-223

Hodgdon lists two 55gr bullets. The max range for both is around 27.5 but the starting range is different. I'd start closer to the lower around 25. I ended up at 26.6 for a load that works in all three of my ARs. The site lists a 62gr bullet starting around 23.8. Can't speak to it though as I...

    Rifle Scopes UTG/ Leapers Scopes

That's cruel!! Surprised you didn't toss in a Countersniper. If you browse the site you will see lots of names (S&B, Premier, NF, US Optics, Leupold, IOR, Vortex, etc.) but you may not have to spend $2k-$3k on a scope. SWFA, Vortex, Bushnell, Nikon, Sightron, all make good scopes starting in...

    Rifle Scopes UTG/ Leapers Scopes

I hope you aren't referring to the article Publisher posted on AIR RIFLE / PELLET GUN scopes. I remember breaking two Leapers scopes before I understood what good equipment really was. Leapers, UTG, Barska, NCStar, and a dozen others died on my .308 before I came to my senses and bought a decent...

    .45acp case prep

Definitely not. If you aren't interested in exteme accuracy then there is no advantage in sorting the brass or weighing especially for those cranking them out on a progressive.

Rifle Scopes To Much Additional Elevation?

I'd start with figuring out how far you can shoot consistently shoot before investing. There are a few folks pushing 155s over 3k fps out to 1200 or so but most of us start loosing steam past 1000. My 175s @ 2661 are pretty much done around 1k. Beyond that Im just lobbing them out there without...

Rifle Scopes To Much Additional Elevation?

Simple calculation. If the MOA of your base is less than half of the total elevation on your scope then you are probably good. Some scopes don't have the advertised travel and many rifles don't have perfectly drilled mounting holes so you may lose a few MOA there. That all said, doesn't your...

Rifle Scopes Need help with scope base on 700, I am on my second one.

Have you checked to make sure your scope has all 65MOA of travel? It's not uncommon for the holes to be slightly off on a 700 or to be off by up to 4-5 MOA for elevation as well. How good are your rings? On the lower end rings sometimes reversing or swapping them will give you different results...
