Gunsmithing New house, new garage. . .

I've had good luck with the Home Depot Rustolieum garage floor epoxy when applied properly. After years of dragging steel across it while fabricating and a ton of floor jack use, it does show wear but for home use, I think it's a good option. If money is no object, I'm sure there's better...

Gunsmithing "clocking" a barrel while chambering.

On an off the shelf barrel, there's no way to do so other than luck of the draw. We all know savage barrels can't shoot good because of the importance of muzzle timing/chamber indicating method....

    Gunsmithing "viper" chambering fixture slippage.

Exactly what I was going to say. On a manual machine barrel work speeds, probably not much of an issue with less than 20" of unsupported barrel. I wouldn't be doing it with my G50 clamped at 5k.

Gunsmithing "clocking" a barrel while chambering.

    Gunsmithing Throating Reamers

I think you'd have to try hard to get a throating reamer to cut off center. Actually, I'm not sure you could if you tried. I agree, having a single form tool is the way to go as you can tell the customer exactly what they have, and be able to back it up, but I don't see lengthing the throat of a...

    Gunsmithing Recent Build

Selective photography! Notice my work benches or floor weren't in the pictures! It's actually pretty nice but still a work in progress. Once I get all the clutter put away, I'll mop the floor and post some shop pictures.

    Gunsmithing Productive Sunday.

I find running it dry and fast on the hammer setting works best. The chips come out blue hot so I know the heat is not going into the barrel or tool.

    Gunsmithing Lathe RPM for threading?

For most people posting on this page, threading RPM is going to have far more to do with reaction time and comfort level than optimum SFM.
