    Re: 7mmRM factory Load I have a 7 rmag. Great shooting gun. Find out what your twist rate is and go from there. My Dads shoots 150-160gr Hornadys. I shoot the 162 Amax, 168 SMK and 175 SMK's. It shoots all those sub MOA. The 7mm has the highest BC's, velocities, lowest recoil of factory magnums.

    Re: Need help choosing a caliber..Free Opinons here! I have a 7mm Rem mag for about 15 yrs now. It was an excellent choice when 168's were the only match bullet for it. Then came Berger and Amax's and now a SMK 175. At a 1000 yd range, the high BC and fps make it hard to beat.

    Re: 7mm Rem mag load data I always used H4831 for 168 SMK (moly), 63.5gr =3150fps. I have had that rifle for since 1995 and Sierra had 2 shooters using it and it was the most accurate. This was always a .30-.50 MOA load, hence no reason to muck with it. I have loaded it up to 66 gr, but case...

    Re: .308 vs 7mm If you handload, theres no question! Theres a reason everyone went to 7mm, look at the BC of the 168/175 smk's. Then for hunting you can shoot 175 or even the Barnes 190 tankbuster round.
