    Rifle Weight

Wow I didn't expect this thread to last or to get this much quality insight. To be honest, the "humping" the rifle around part isn't really what concerns me as I'm in great shape. However, in the video one of the shooting stations required a run to the shooting position and then to shoot...

    Rifle Weight

I can carry the rifle without any problem. I just wondered if these guys were using lighter guns for this sort of comp. to gain an advantage.

    Rifle Weight

I recently watched a video within this section of a completion (good video by the way) and noticed that there were a few stations where one would have to run with their rifle before shooting as well as shoot off hand. With this in mind I started to wonder what their rifles weighed on average...

What do YOU want to see in this year's GAP Grind video?

Really cool video! I think you nailed it with "top shooters to giving a rundown on their rifles."

Anyone add a bottom rail to a AICS?

I added a short rail in front of the sling swivel. http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-bolt-action-rifles/200483-its-finally-done.html#post2593189

    Coyote Killer done

It's an old pattern I've had tucked away for the right build. I'm pretty sure you can't buy one from McMillan anymore but you could perhaps try Ebay or Gunbroker? Best of luck in your search. Actually, maybe you could buy a current A3 and customize it??

    Coyote Killer done

No decoy carving.... I make or repair hi end stocks for bespoke double guns (rifle or shotgun). I'm currently working on a Holland and Holland.

    Coyote Killer done

Thanks for the compliment! The best trout fishing I've ever done was in Montana too - floating the Missouri. I love Montana! If there was my line of work there I'd move in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I'm stuck in the PRK (peoples Republic of Komifornia).

    Coyote Killer done

I thought some people might ask this question. It's actually an old version of the A3. I'm really not a fan of the "paddle" style stocks out these days. They're too heavy and in my opinion look ugly, but each to his own.....

    Coyote Killer done

I have a small ranch in Montana and a lot of the young deer are being ravaged by the coyote’s so I decided to take it upon myself to remedy the problem. I have quite a few rifles that could do the job but quite frankly it would be overkill since most are 30 cal. or bigger. Therefore, I decided...

    It's finally done!

Thanks! The contour is #9 or heavy target. I have this on most of my rifles.

    REALLY tight fit!

We're on the same page. I'll be doing the "sharpie test" in a few minutes. Regardless, thanks for the advice!

    REALLY tight fit!

I readjusted my "full length" sizing die to bump the just a little more and the round chambered easily. Now I need to work how far off the lands I should go to get optimal accuracy/consistency for this specific rifle. The funny thing is that I have a few other rifles that I reload for that are...

I'm not sure what you mean? Please elaborate

    REALLY tight fit!

None taken- Okay, the sized brass goes easily. So perhaps I'm not seating the bullet deep enough. However, what's odd is that the OAL of the round doesn't change once it's been chambered. If the bullet was hitting the lands wouldn't the bullet seat a little deeper? I measured the OAL before and...

    REALLY tight fit!

I'm reloading 6.5 creedmoor and when the cartridge is complete and I go to chamber the round it's REALLY tight. Factory Hornaday loads aren't tight. Here's what I'm using: 140 grn Berger VLD's seated to an OAL of 2.810 Hornaday once fired brass from my rifle RCBS dies Has anyone else...
