    Help w/ AR

Re: Help w/ AR The OP stated a need, not a want. I'm glad you like your rifle so much but it's laughable to suggest that there's only one answer for everyone's needs. Even in the "buy once, cry once" category there are many good options. For someone new to the AR market it makes sense to...

    Help w/ AR

Re: Help w/ AR You don't need to be spending $2500 on a .223 AR to get precision setup. First of all, a basic lower receiver like the one pictured, even including a match trigger, will run you about $500. So you're spending $2k for the upper, which is ridiculous. You can get a solid...

Rifle Scopes first magnified optic ever.... please help.

Re: first magnified optic ever.... please help. The best thing you can do for yourself is ditch the Aimpoint comparison. An unmagnified optic just doesn't work the same way so you're going to have to deal with issues like eye relief, parallax, etc. in magnified scopes.

    Rifle Scopes ACOG or what?

Re: ACOG or what? You can put an ACOG on an M1A but it's too tall to have anything like a normal cheek weld without a huge cheek pad. You'd be much better off with a low-power variable scope. You'll still have to use a cheek pad (that's normal for a scoped M1A) but it'll be at a more...

Re: Leupold mk 8 CQBSS 1.1x8 The target market is military, I don't think they care about whether regular people buy it.

Re: New Vortex Tactical Website Sam on the Viper PST 1-4x, is the dot visible in daylight or is the illumination more along the lines of a typical illuminated reticle?

Rifle Scopes Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x24 opinoins

Re: Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x24 opinoins Keep in mind that the eye relief is unlimited for the T1 which may give it the edge in a defensive situation. If that's important to you, one option is to go with a T1 and an Aimpoint 3x mag on a flip mount.

    M1A Supermatch vs. Smith M-25

Re: M1A Supermatch vs. Smith M-25 If it doesn't have a scope base already I'd look at SEI and Sadlak. If weight is an issue consider the Sadlak aluminum or titanium mounts. FWIW the SEI steel mount weighs 11 oz.

    AR15 Bolt-Carrier Group question

Re: AR15 Bolt-Carrier Group question Well they're more expensive so they must be better right? ;-) Seriously though, I have seen plenty of examples of bolts failing but not carriers. Any milspec carrier with properly staked gas key should be fine. Some people like the Young NM carriers...
