Pilla has great frames and lenses. They offer a wide array of styles and lenses for shooters. I have several pair and they are the best shooting glasses that I have ever used. See https://pillasport.com/ Phil G

    Training Courses Recommended precision courses?

Rifles Only for the PR 1-2 course. Jacob does a super job of teaching fundamentals. I took the course, learned a great deal and was very impressed with his teaching and facility. Phil G

Be sure and include Gary Cooper in “High Noon”. It is old, but a classic. Phil G

Should you keep the origonal boxes for your gear?

I have a several garage shelves full of empty firearm and scope boxes. My wife thinks I'm crazy for keeping them. I'm going to show her this thread tonight. She won't agree, but at least she will see that I'm not alone! Phil G

Training Courses Training classes near Houston

I stayed at a hotel, but the bunkhouse looked great. I had paper work/computer work that I needed to do at night for my job. I figured I would stand a better chance of getting it done without distractions at a hotel. Phil G

Suppressors Reasons NOT to direct thread?

I have the Thunderbeast Ultra 7 in both direct thread and CB Brake models. In fact, I had Thunderbeast convert my first CB model to direct thread. The direct thread is 11.5 oz. Compared to 9.7 oz. for the CB model. However, the CB brake or flash hider adds weigh to the end of the rifle so it...

Training Courses Training classes near Houston

I'll "third" the motion. I took a 5 day Precision Rifle I and II course at Rifles Only and it was great. Jacob knows his stuff and it was a super learning experience. Phil G

    Shooting mats

Another vote for one of the Midway Pro Series mats (Especially when they are on sale). Whatever brand you purchase I highly recommend a lighter color so you don't get fried in the Summer. Phil G

    Decent 22 pistol?

My Ruger 22/45 lite shoots suppressed standard velocity ammo without any malfunctions and sounds like a staple gun. I highly recommend it as a 22lr pistol for a suppressor. Phil G

It's actually called "aiming fluid". Phil G

Sidearms & Scatterguns First pistol ever, which one??

Get a Glock 17 or 19 and learn to shoot by taking a class and run a couple of thousand rounds thru It. By that time you will be in a much better position to decide if Glock is for you or if you want to try another type. You can always sell the Glock if you decide to go with another pistol and...

    Suppressors TBAC Ultra 9 vs. 7, 6.5mm or 30cal?

I have several Thunder Beast cans. I also had my 30P-1 recored with the Ultra baffles. The suppression levels between my Ultra 7 in 6.5 and my Ultra 7 in 30 caliber is barely noticeable. As you would expect, My 30P-1 is quieter than my Ultra 7. My advice - for hunting or competition get a Ultra...

Help me pick a pistol for suppressor.

Another vote for the Ruger 22/45 Lite. A great combination with a suppressor. Only modification to the 22/45 was a Volquartsen trigger, sear, and hammer bushing for a much better trigger pull. Phil G

Slip 2000 works well for me. Haven't tried FireClean but I may based on the other posts. Phil G

    Suppressors suppressor need recommendation

Thunderbeast Ultra 7 is a great can. I think it is the perfect combination of noise suppression, size and weight. I use it on semi's and bolts. Just don't do any mag dumps. Phil G
