Photos Shooting up to 2172 yards

I'd probably faint if I got a first round hits past 2000 yards! How big was the target?

    Turret "stickers"

From MS Paint to a easy to use web app, DIY turret labels have come a long way! Awesome app, so much cheaper than ordering custom dials from scope manufacturers like Leupold or Nikon. Thanks sharing the fruit of your efforts!

    DIY Shooting bags

Nice job. Why poly fill? Soft pillow stuffing stuff? My favorite bags (Dog Gone Good) are filled with ground up 5 gallon buckets (HDPE). They float and are good as new after being left in the rain (ask me how I know).

Rifle Scopes Master list of FFP long range rifle scopes

Vortex gave me the 71 MOA dial limit number for Razor II and AMG when I called and asked them. They were pretty specific about it right off the bat, it wasn't like they grabbed one and spun the dial to see how far it would go. Since that's the number I got directly from Vortex, I'm hesitant to...

    Bergara HMR Pro

It all shoots fine, I had no time for fooling around with chrono, groups or getting all science-y. I zeroed with 147 ELDM at 100, and immediately started shooting from 1000 to 2000 yards. Hornady 147 ELDM is almost as fast as 140 ELDM (2695 vs 2710 fps), but better BC, so we shot 147 ELDM at a...

Rifle Scopes Master list of FFP long range rifle scopes

@Scotch_egg and @wjm308, good catch. I didn't realize the March reticles of the same name had different subtensions on the 3-24 and 5-40 models. Other March reticles suffered the same problem as well. Fixed.

Rifle Scopes Master list of FFP long range rifle scopes

I had the PA 4-14 and 6-30 scope pictures switched. Fixed. Thanks for letting me know!

    Bergara HMR Pro

Recoil is very mild. Between 223 and 308, in no way punishing or difficult to manage. Spotting your own shots past 600-700 yards is no problem.

Rifle Scopes Master list of FFP long range rifle scopes

Yeah, I'm not filtering on quality or reputation (in some cases, I'd never heard of them before), just whether the scope is FFP, 14X or more, and 60 MOA elevation or more. The 60 MOA of elevation requirement seemed to exclude most of the low tier bargain scopes such as Barska, Nikko Sterling...

Rifle Scopes Duracoat on a riflescope = problems?

I've seen lots of painted scopes, I've never heard of it causing problems with holding zero. If the scope is moving in the rings, I think you'd notice it in the paint. I'm curious if others have seen paint causing issues.

    Bergara HMR Pro

I've been shooting a Bergara LRP Premier 6.5CM, it's been a fantastic off the shelf rifle. The LRP has a chassis instead of the HRM stock-with-a-chassis-inside, but IIRC, the same "Premier" action/barrel/trigger/finish. The TriggerTech trigger is a joy. Almost zero take-up, just a crisp break...

Rifle Scopes Master list of FFP long range rifle scopes

I've compiled a master list of all FFP long range scopes, defined as: * FFP * 20X or higher at the top end The list has pictures of all reticles offered, so it doubles as a list of all high power FFP reticles. Finding quality reticle images/diagrams was one of the more frustrating parts of...

Rifle Scopes Nearly half way into the year, what scopes are you waiting on to come out or purchase?

@stilesg57 , the VX5HD is SFP, so Leupold will never put a tree reticle in it like the Impact 29 MOA tree. Maybe you're thinking of the Mark5HD? But the Mark5HD already comes in 5-25 and 3.6-18. The Mark5HD has MIL tree reticle options like CCH and various Horus, but they don't mix MIL/MOA in...

In terms of parallax, ATACR 7-35 alternatives?

Since you're considering an ATACR, the IOR Valdada 4-28X50 RECON can focus as close as 21 feet. @Mr.BR said some good things about it. http://www.valdada.com/4-28x50-40mm-recon-tactical-ffp-mil-mil-xtreme-x1-illum-reticle/ $3000 at SWFA, maybe cheaper somewhere else...

    Range Report 6.5 Creedmoor Zero

Let me add to @m1match’s on-point answer: 100 yd zero facilitates communication with other shooters that overwhelmingly use 100 yd zeros. Example: if you are at a club match where there are concerns about new competitors shooting over the berm (or under in some cases), the RO may ask for your...

Hunting & Fishing Sage rat/whistle pig reports (Beldings and Townsend high desert ground squirrels)

July should be a good month (and last month) for shooting sage rats and whistle pigs. The alfalfa will be freshly cut so the rats will have nowhere to hide. The juveniles are out of the holes, getting fat for the August hibernation. High desert ground squirrels like sage rats and whistle pigs...

Rifle Scopes DMR II Pro 3.5-21x50mm

The DMR II and DMR II Pro are listed to have 100 MOA total elevation adjustment. If you mounted it on a 40 MOA base, would the dial let you dial up 90? Or does the dial have a lower limit than the internal travel? Would it be a bad idea to mount on a 40 MOA base if the goal is extreme long...

.300wm Factory Ammo with best results

Well now, I had no idea you could order custom ammunition like that, Stage One (charge weights) and Stage Two (seating depth). It's an interesting middle ground for well-heeled hunters that want the very best ammunition, but don't want to dive into reloading. I know Nosler sells some kind of...

Rifle Scopes A rant about poor focal plane, dial limit and reticle data on scope brand websites

Mixing MOA reticle with MRAD dial, or FFP reticle with SFP scope? Or both? The last two are discontinued, wonder why?

Rifle Scopes A rant about poor focal plane, dial limit and reticle data on scope brand websites

Funny thing is Leupold has released the CCH FFP subtensions (I found it here on the hide), but somehow doesn't think it's worth putting on their website. Link to Leupold CCH FFP subtensions: What you can actually find on Leupold.com: https://www.leupold.com/reticles/reticle-ffp-cch-177
