375 Cheyac build (barrel bore diameter and twist?)

375 Cheyac build (barrel bore diameter and twist?)

I have read alot of information regarding the Cheytac and barrel specs. I am waiting on my XLR Stock to drop in a Stillers TAC 408 action to chamber a .375 Cheytac. I already have the 5.5-22X Nightforce NXS scope. I will be shooting 350 Jamison Solids and 350 Grain Sierra Match King...

    Fieldcraft What Makes a Sniper

Re: What Makes a Sniper USMC Definition: "A Marine who is highly trained in field skills and marksmanship who can provide long range precision fire on select targets from concealed positions in support of combat operations." This is the Corps definition but I think it relates to all sniping...

GS Custom Solids for 375 Cheytac

Re: GS Custom Solids for 375 Cheytac Dave, I am currently building a 375CT with a Stillers action. I plan to shoot Jamison solids and the 350GR Sierras. You are saying it is better to go with say a 1:10 twist for these longer projectiles and the standard .375 bore diameter? Please confirm...

    ELR and ES errors?

Re: ELR and ES errors? Correct me if I'm wrong but all you are talking about is internal ballistics for your rifle. It's all about limiting the variables. RobertB mentioned this earlier. What type bullet and powder combination works best with your rifle? (hence load development) Are you...

Rifle Scopes badger ordnance 20 moa base installation

Re: badger ordnance 20 moa base installation 15 inch pounds and no more. I would NOT recommend using Loctite. There may come a time when you will have to take that base off. I use a Snap-On torqueometer torque wrench 0-100 inch pounds to mount optics. I never had a problem.

    Reloading press for 375 CheyTac

Gentlemen, What are you using for a reloading press to load the larger calibers? I looked at the reloading threads but I did not see anything that would help given my situation. I have a Dillon XL650 and a Lee Progressive reloader. I am pretty sure neither of these machines will handle the...

    Rifle Scopes Durability of Nightforce

Re: Durability of Nightforce I bought my Nightforce 5.5X22X56 in 2001 when I had my McMillan 300RUM built. My scope has been banged around for years and it still shoots true everytime. Money well spent. I paid $950.00 for that scope back then. If I knew then what I know how, I would have...

Re: New Member I know exactly what I bought with the 375CT. I have another place lined up to shoot it out to 2400 yards once the build is complete. I have shot the 300 RUM back to 1000 yards at my place. I have a Seiler Industries Day/Night scope that I keep on for anything needing to be shot...

I retired from the Corps after 22 years and have been contracting over the last 6 years. I have a 300RUM custom built by McMillan and reload everything from 32-20 WIN to 300RUM. I have a...
