    Rem. 700 AAC-SC/FGMM/Pressure Issues?

    Make sure then chamber is good and clean and free of build up, that is usually an AR issue but worth a try. Can't be the action to the best of knowledge. Take it to a local smith and have them look at the chamber and make sure headspace is right.

    Weatherby Vanguard .270

    They are Howas, good gun, but metric which can make them harder to work on. .270 is a fine hunting round but does not have the pills to keep up with the 6.5 or 7mms at distance.

    I think the barreled action is the same and since you are likely replacing the stock and adding DBM, it makes sense to go that route. I would have cdi handle the stock/DBM unless you are buying chassis.

    Match tips kill a whole lot of game especially in a 338 not sure I would worry about it too much. You hit them where you are supposed to and they will drop especially on deer.

    Spend the money on reloading equipment, then the .338 is not much more to shoot than anything else so long as kept all your brass.

    600 in calm conditions for me but i have seen a buddy head shot steel at 780 yards first shot fired on the day with a .260. Wish I could shoot more.

    Man that is badly misinformed. The old 30-06 is a very capable long range round especially with modern powders and projectiles. Doubt he would be so confident as to stand 500 yards downrange to find out if it will magincally nose dive at 401 yards.

    Did they have any other heavy contoured .308s? The freedom and extra funds to buy your own stock, is the issue. You can make most any of them shoot. Plus extra funds for optics is nice. But I am not a fan of the barrel style of the vtr.
