Rifle Scopes Calling all Super sniper owners

Re: Calling all Super sniper owners I've had a 10x and 20x with the rear focus. Both worked great. I still have the 10x, and if I were to do it again, I'd get the 16x. To me, the rear focus was/is fine.

Best Picatinny Riser for DPMS LRT-SASS

Best Picatinny Riser for DPMS LRT-SASS

Re: Best Picatinny Riser for DPMS LRT-SASS I'm not familiar with you particular setup, but here is what I have figured out. I bought a DPMS LR-260 and my Nightforce 3.5-15x50mm in badger medium height rings would not fit/mount (front of scope would hit the handguard). I went with the Badger...

Advanced Marksmanship Chrono Differences for Gas vs Bolt Gun - ES / SD

Re: Chrono Differences for Gas vs Bolt Gun - ES / SD Thanks all, for the responses... Kong, out of curiosity, do you use the same load in both guns? That is very similar to my current/future setup; tac30 26", and DPMS 24", but both in 260.

Advanced Marksmanship Chrono Differences for Gas vs Bolt Gun - ES / SD

My question is relatively simple, yet I don't expect a simple answer. Can a gas gun (AR-10) introduce more variation in muzzle velocities for a given load than a bolt gun? I'm aware that gas guns often (and should) have lower average velocities. My question is with respect to variation in...

    Best Trigger for AR-10

Re: Best Trigger for AR-10 I just went with a Geissele SD-E, it is a huge improvement over the factory trigger. The first stage is short with a definate stop, and the second stage is around 1 lb. I like it.

DPMS LR 260 - Gas Block Question - Possible Leak?

Re: DPMS LR 260 - Gas Block Question - Possible Leak? I just got back from the range. After the minor adjustments mentioned above (tightening the gas block screws, blue loktite, lubing the buffer spring, the same load would now cycle properly, except the bolt hold open catch wouldn't latch...

DPMS LR 260 - Gas Block Question - Possible Leak?

Re: DPMS LR 260 - Gas Block Question - Possible Leak? I took the gas block off, cleaned it up, and re-installed it square to the receiver rail. Both allen screws are now 'snug' (about as much force as I can apply with a little allen wrench). I also noticed that the buffer tube / spring were...

DPMS LR 260 - Gas Block Question - Possible Leak?

Re: DPMS LR 260 - Gas Block Question - Possible Leak? One of the two allen screws was a bit loose... not significantly, but I did get an additional 1/8 turn on it. Any idea on what the torque spec is for the two allen screws? How do I when the gas block is properly aligned?

DPMS LR 260 - Gas Block Question - Possible Leak?

I shot my new DPMS LR260 today for the first time. Overall I'm impressed, but the rifle did have a hard time cycling (short stroking) with a particular handload. The rifle did cycle and pick up the next round with Rem factory core-lokt (every time). I figured the problem was with the handloads...

    Suppressors Which one?

Re: Which one? I'll start by saying I'm a Sig guy 99% of the time. Sigs are great, however I do own a P22. Part of that is since I bought the P22 before I got into Sigs. A good friend bought a Mosquito and I've put around 100 rounds down it. I still like the feel and reliability of the...

    Anyone used a Telescope

Re: Anyone used a Telescope I've used a Meade ETX 90 with the eyepieces it came with. I could see bullet holes (.30 cal) on paper to 400 yards most of the time. 500 yards was hit or miss, and any further was no luck at all. I used the telescope with the tripod it came with and it does look a...

Actual Experiences with JLK 140 VLDs in 260 Rem?

I hear how the JLK 140's (6.5mm) have a great B.C. (verified by Bryan Litz's book), however I haven't seen very many posts on actual experiences with this bullet in 260 Remington. Please share if you have used this bullet; I'm interested in the following: 1) Overall impressions and comparison...

    Stock 700 SPS V 308 expectations

Re: Stock 700 SPS V 308 expectations Although not your exact setup... I started with a stock LTR shooting 175 SMKs with a SS scope. The setup performed great (MOA or better) to about 1100-1200 yards (with a density altitude of 7000 ft). Average MV at 2650FPS. I've had a 10x and 20x SS scope...

    30mm low rings

Re: 30mm low rings I used TPS rings on both of my SS's. In both cases they worked fine; no complaints. Seems like people either love them or hate them depending on whether or not you acually deal direct with the company. I avoided all that and bought them on SWFA.

'Droid Shooter program & LRSS help

Re: 'Droid Shooter program & LRSS help For what it's worth, I have the "Shooter" application for Androids and it works as well as the inputs. As do most calculators. I'm very pleased with it. +1 to Sean (the developer). I highly recommend the app; it's well worth the 10 bucks.
