    Re: SS Barrel matched with a standard action nothing wrong with two tone. stainless barrels are supposed to resist erosion better, but rust resistance is the biggie IMO.

    Re: best choice for a $500.00 2-10 or so scope? the Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40 with CDS elevation knob is $499 right now at most places, and that's the route i went. i have one in the mail right now. and i have a NF NXS but i want smaller/lighter on this rig.

    Re: Question AICS recoil lug inlet i have had to fit an oversize lug into an older AICS. i chucked the barreled action in a lathe and faced the front (muzzle side) of the recoil lug until it fit. .186" IIRC. this left the stock untouched, and the operation only took 30 minutes or so.

    Re: 6.5mm twist rate advice 1:8 or 1:8.5" i run 6.5 bore tubes in 1-8", 1-8.5" and 1-9" 8" is my default nowadays. i see no downside 8.5" works almost as well my 9" twist would stabilize 140 SMKs, but not the 142s
