    Gunsmithing refinishing my pistol slide

Re: refinishing my pistol slide I have had great success with Duracoat flat and satin colors, not so much with gloss, because I tend to get varying sheen. You can get the gloss clear coat Duracoat and spray it on after the color. If you want a nice gloss black finish, I would go with the...

    Duracoat help....

Re: Duracoat help.... I have applied Duracoat on several of my pistols and now my bolt rifle, and it has held up more than just fine. Can't say I know why some people are having so much problems with it, but I haven't had problems. Only places I see it rub off, are places where close fitting...

    Rifle Scopes Thank's US OPTICS...

Re: Thank's US OPTICS... I wouldn't worry about the transferable warranty. If you have a question or request on an USO just call them up. A friend of mine got an USO Snipers Hide edition second hand, took it into USO and they performed a clean and inspection without a single question.

Re: best mono pod Some quality reading for you shedhorn. Get the double-shot espresso ready... Search Engine results I personally have used Accu-shot mono pod on a friends rifle, and rear bag on that same rifle, and I prefer the bag. The pod wouldn't stay put.

    Gunsmithing Bedding my Howa

Re: Bedding my Howa I experimented with another can of silicon release agent I got from a hardware supply store, and it didn't work as well as the Epoxease, so I guess not all silicon release agents are the same! Whatever you find to use, be sure to test it on a scrap piece of metal first...

    Lucas cleaning bore guide

Hi all, Just wanted to share my experience with Mike Lucas who made a bore guide for my Howa 1500 .308 rifle. I had a heck of a time trying to find a bore guide that would fit in the chamber of my Howa, after trying a couple of brands of bore guides to no avail (Possum was one, can't remember...

    Gunsmithing Bedding my Howa

Re: Bedding my Howa Thanks guys. flyboy, there is still some overhang off the shelf behind the front recoil lug recess, it seems pretty solid and I don't think it will be detrimental to anything, so I might just leave it.

    Gunsmithing Bedding my Howa

Hi all, Not perfect but just wanted to show some results of my first ever bedding job, done for my Howa .308 on a B&C Tactical stock. Have to give special recognition to all the informative and detailed bedding tutorials on this site, they were a great help. Special thanks to Scimitar for all...

    Gunsmithing duracoating a rifle

Re: duracoating a rifle Duracoat is easy enough to do and forgiving. I did my Howa's barreled action in Duracoat, and also the base coat of the stock with Duracoat and then put Krylon on top.

    Rifle Scopes TPS ring failure...

Re: TPS ring failure... No problems so far, received it today at lunch and already put it on the rifle. Torqued it to the specified 65 in/lbs. and everything was good to go. These TPS rings are finished very nicely. Mine are aluminum rings on aluminum base.

First bolt action rifle finished. :)

Re: First bolt action rifle finished. :) Thanks guys. Axeman, I will shoot it first to see how it performs before I decide whether to bed it or not. So far with the "screwing only rear screw" test the rifle didn't show there was a stress point (front didn't raise up), but I might end up...
