Ah, good point. I missed the idea of you wanting the magnesium. There are definitely lots of precautions you need to take when machining magnesium, especially when cutting it dry.- XLR

Unfortunately, our fixtures are made for that specific outside dimension/length so we can not do a shorter version. I am sure if you are handy with a mill, you might be able to shorten it. You would probably save an ounce or two.- XLR

We have personally not seen any accuracy difference with the Magnesium vs Aluminum. None of our chassis need to be bedded as they all utilize our multi-point radial inlet. The bedding question is one that comes up a lot. Even in conversation with top gunsmiths that bed other chassis, they...- XLR

XLR element gen 1 issues with feeding
We have seen in some cases that the feed ramp protrudes and slightly blocks the mag even with the short 2.80 lengths. It is rare but does happen on some Remmy's. We have moved the mag location back as far as we can to minimize this but then we run into the "tit" at the back of the Remington...- XLR
