    Re: 7rm to 338?? Bolt face question for the wiser You can go with a 330 Dakota with a little opening, a 338RUM, a 338 Edge, or even a 338 Lapua if you wanted to open the bolt up and install a different extractor. You can do all of the above except the Lapua without to much trouble.

    Re: Barrel-Reciever Threaded Joint I think that I've seen more problems from over torquing than from threads that are not perfect. I've actually loosened barrels and retorqued to 65-75 ftlbs and the things started to shoot. I guess I'm trying to say be careful with to much interferance.

If the 308 had the velocity to push the heavier bullet at the same speed then and only then would it keep up with the ballistics...
