Monthly Sporting Rifle match RATON NM

Re: Monthly Sporting Rifle match RATON NM Tons of shooters made for a long day. As always the shooting was great and the people were enjoyable. Some stations had no wind, others had tricky shifting winds. Shot better than I ever have at this match but have lots of room to improve still. A...

Rifle Scopes MSR reticle WILL NOW be available direct from S&B

Re: MSR reticle will not be available direct from S&B The MSR is in S&Bs promo literature, weird that they won't offer it now.

Rifle Scopes New S&B on the way.... What to expect?

Re: New S&B on the way.... What to expect? Compared to my NF my SB is heavier, has shorter distance between clicks and has clearer glass. Biggest thing I have noticed about the glass is it cuts through the mirage better.

    Cat tails on scopes.

Re: Cat tails on scopes. We have found the benefit on larger magnification scopes on long range rigs is in helping to find targets. Often one will use a low power wide field of view to find a target and then zoom in on the target to engage it. The Scope Lever reduces the dexterity and...

    Cat tails on scopes.

Re: Cat tails on scopes. I am the owner of 3Gunstuff. Our Scope Lever is just under .7" tall, Drissel Cat Tails are ~.8" tall and MGMs are 1" tall. The amount of effort needed to operate any of them is about the same. Ours offers the benefit of texturing and an ergonomic shape on the handle...

Is an Atlas worth the jump from Harris, etc?

Re: Is an Atlas worth the jump from Harris, etc? I just got a V7. The benefit of it over the Harris is it's much easier for me to load the Atlas which reduces recoil and makes it easier to see my shots impact the target.

    Proper Atlas installation

On a V7 should the part of the bipod with the arrow, pat pend etc. engraved face towards or away from the shooter?

Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor HD 1-4 Review

Re: Vortex Razor HD 1-4 Review Have spent a little time with one, good glass, the EBR 556 reticle looks nice. Seems well built. Biggest downside I've identified is that the illumination isn't daylight visible. For the money it seems like a good scope.

    LaRue OBR 7.62.

Re: LaRue OBR 7.62. Buddy of mine has one and really likes it, they have a lighter weight version called the PredatAR coming out in March/April, I pre-ordered one of those.

Strong hand position on McMillan stocks

Re: Strong hand position on McMillan stocks So I tried this technique some more on my A4 and then on my AICS and it seems like the biggest problem with it is recoil management. If I grip the gun with my strong hand and wrap the thumb around I can control the recoil better then if I do what is...

Monthly Sporting Rifle match RATON NM

Re: Monthly Sporting Rifle match RATON NM Not that worried about what it's like in Raton tomorow, but what it'll be like getting there in the early AM. The weather between Springs and Raton tonight looks like good chance of a decent amount of snow/blowing snow. So I'm officially bailing...

Monthly Sporting Rifle match RATON NM

Re: Monthly Sporting Rifle match RATON NM Winter weather advisory for southern Colorado along I25 through Sunday AM. Not too excited about that. Hopefully some of you guys on the ground in Raton can tell us Sunday drivers what it's like down there.

Monthly Sporting Rifle match RATON NM

Re: Monthly Sporting Rifle match RATON NM Looks like warmish today (low 40s) but with snow/rain in the late aternoon/evening. Tomorrow looks like colder (high 35) with less chance of snow. Getting my stuff together right now.

Strong hand position on McMillan stocks

Re: Strong hand position on McMillan stocks Thanks for those pics Garddog, that is roughly what I was trying. I have an AICS inbound but will shoot the A4 a little more before I decide if I'm going to switch.

    Rifle Scopes Gen II Reticle

Re: Gen II Reticle I was able to shoot the gun with this scope on it out to 1020 yards and found it worked fine. The target at 1020 was about 9" in diameter and I didn't have any trouble seeing or hitting it.

Strong hand position on McMillan stocks

Re: Strong hand position on McMillan stocks I experimented some and found that having my right thumb on the side of the stock seemed to work best. Putting it anywhere on top of the stock felt like I had to stretch it too much and screwed up my trigger control.

    New chassis=new dope?

My rem700 currently lives in a McMillan A4. I have pretty good dope for my setup. Will swapping the action into an AICS potentially change my dope much? The action and scope won't be changed at all but my head position could change. The stock will hopefully come next week and I have a match...

This video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHXonYOUW4k references a BDC reticle in the new S&B 1.1-8, I hadn't heard anything about that before, any pictures or info available on this reticle?
