Sidearms & Scatterguns What is the Ultimate Combat Pistol? Make your case

I'm going to go with the 1911, and the incredible stopping power of the big fortah-five... right up to it's expiration date. Or is that the model number? ;-) The FBI is going back to 9mm after finally debunking all the "stopping power" myths. The FBI is Going 9mm: Here Comes the...

    Home made scope leveling jig....

Assuming your scope manufacturer certifies that the flat bottom area is parallel to the horizontal reticle line (and most do): Just set the scope slightly loose in the rings, put a metal ruler leaned forward in a slot of the pic rail, and attempt to tilt it vertical, simultaneously contacting...

    Suppressors E-File Form 1 Question

It's some kind of internal application tracking number that is automatically assigned. It is not useful to you unless you need to make some out of band inquiry with them.

    Navy spec ops PTs

The first step is developing an effective eggbeater kick. I think Stew Smith has a video out on YT describing it. Once you have this down, I would start working on being able to tread for increasing time periods up to 20 minutes. Upon reaching that point, you will be able to start doing...

    Navy spec ops PTs

I've got a PJ candidate shipping October, one NSW guy with a contract and another who just took his first PST. What I am hearing is that you will definitely be treading with and without fins, and for longer periods of time than you want to. Some of it hands-up. I would work on a good...

    Mason Dixon Sniper Series 2014

Yup, it was done 100% fairly. I looked at the formula and tested it. The way Matt shot this year, he's earned a little good luck. Congrats bro.

    Boresnaking for better shots.

Already discussed many times. See my post, #2 here before you get a million BS answers that include scratching the fuck out of your tube with some faux-religious regimen and bathing it in expensive boutique grade fluids...

    Mason Dixon Sniper Series 2014

Yeah, you probably should have consulted with a few of us before you started working on that spaceship if you had competition in mind. You don't have to run the AI so hot. Most certainly there are going to be accuracy nodes closer to 2900 that you can work with. That way you can still play...

    Mason Dixon Sniper Series 2014

I had a great time shooting the series this year. It was a tremendous amount of fun and all the matches were well run and challenging. I would like to thank this year's MD's: Josh, Shrek, Steve and Tommy. And all their assistants who worked their asses off. Thanks to Peacemaker...

    Groups smaller than bullet diameter?

Center to center. This allows group size to be measured on the merits of accuracy alone, without giving weight to caliber. All bullets in EXACTLY the same hole would be 0.

    Zeroing a 7.62/308 Battle Rifle

Anything with irons I do 200Y/50Y which takes advantage of the flattest part of the trajectory for most fighting rifle calibers. I always zero at the further distance and 'trust' the closer one. /Fargo007

    SPR Build, help

I've been shooting a rifle like this in precision comps for ~2 years now. I had a 20" WOA on it with a gemtech sandstorm. The gun is now disassembled waiting for a Hawk Hill 18". Everything you would want to do with this is do-able with the 18 just like the 20 but with less weight and less...

For a barrel check out Hawk Hill Custom. My gun is in pieces now. The barrel is shot out and I'm going with HHC from now on. There are a few guys using these that I know and they are shooting lights out.

Training Courses Bhtc 2015 wish list

Well that's two of us brother. We ran the DMR course in 2012 and it was a REALLY great time. I've been shooting and competing with a .223 DMR gun almost exclusively for nearly two years now. My gun is now in pieces. I shot my barrel out way past its intended life and after talking to...

Gunsmithing Sending a .223 barrel out for nitriding - shoot it first? - prep included?

Hey, I've never sent a barrel out for salt bath nitriding/nitrocarburizing. Can someone give me the skinny on how it works? Wondering if I should break it in first, and if I do, is it up to ME to make sure that it's fully degreased, clean, etc. or is that conducted as part of the...
