    Rifle Scopes Review: March-F 3-24 x 42 FFP

Re: Review: March-F 3-24 x 42 FFP I won't part with mine, I've had it over a year now and I'm just starting to get serious about competing. I've had mine next to just about everything and the only thing it gives up is brightness at the higher mag levels. However, to get one of those...

    Decent Anemometer?

Re: Decent Anemometer? I have a Brunton Pro ADC that gives me everything, including DA. I never use the anemometer though, the wind at my location is rarely the same as downrange. Matter of fact, I pretty much just leave it on DA while I'm shooting and keep track of that.

    Member Link Up SHWW Group

Re: SHWW Group Thank you Jim, Jesse and everyone that helped make this match happen. I definitely took away some things to work on, and some changes to my current practice. If I had to stand around in the snow waiting to shoot, this is the group to be with!

    Rifle Pack

Re: Rifle Pack I just went from a Gunslinger to an X3. I like the GS, but the X3 is better for what I need. I've walked a ways with a rucksack, and balancing your load is critical. I like the fact that I can drop my rifle in the scabbard and not have to rebalance my load. When you strap a...

    Difference between M24 and M24A2

Re: Difference between M24 and M24A2 The only guys in the Army capable of building a precision rifle are the AMU guys, and as far as I know they only work on their own stuff. Remington supplies the complete M24 system and is contracted for all the work.

    Difference between M24 and M24A2

Re: Difference between M24 and M24A2 Nope, they start with the same barreled action, then do the mods you described. Though I want to say it's Badger bottom metal, they have a specific model for M24s that take short action AICS mags.

    Advanced Marksmanship KIM exercise

Re: KIM exercise If the students don't have any exposure to the games, you might start with some instruction on memorization techniques, like placing the items on a person, mnemonic devices, etc.. Start with static exposure, just letting them look at the items and then write them down a...

    Pop quiz

    Re: Pop quiz If you absolutely need to include that 120 yard reference point, it works like this: 1 mil @ 100y = 3.6" 25 mils @ 100 = 90" X 1.2 for 120y = 108" Here's where people are getting confused. 500/120 = 4.1667. You guys keep using 5 with the 120 yard reading. 108" X 4.1667 = 450" at...

    Pop quiz

Re: Pop quiz That's backwards, think about it. If something measures 25 mils at 120 and it gets closer to you it will appear larger. The math in my last post is correct, keep it simple!!!

    Pop quiz

    Re: Pop quiz 1 mil @ 100 yd = 3.6" X 25 = 90" @ 100 yd X 5 = 450" @ 500. That 120 yard reference is just adding confusion. It confused me the first time around, now I see what you're trying to do.

    Pop quiz

Re: Pop quiz That doesn't make sense unless that bulldozer is over 45 feet tall. I get just over 100 inches, which would make that bulldozer closer to 10 feet tall.

8541 Tactical 2012 SHOT Show Coverage

Re: 8541 Tactical 2012 SHOT Show Coverage I started to get excited about the Hensoldt, but then after the review I'm not so sure. Who needs 36 mils? I would have preferred an 18 mil single turn knob instead. I also wonder about that battery compartment in terms of mounting. I guess we'll see...

Large Flash from Chamber of LMT MWS
