    New to reloading 6.5 CM

I just took a first crack at developing two inital loads for a friend who has a Ruger RPR in 6.5 CM. The top two eyeball shots were with the 147 ELDM's and the nose shots were with the 140 match burners: My son was not taking his time and had the two flyers. These are at 100 yards. Loads...

    .224 Valkyrie

Humm. I was thinking of wearing an eye patch next time out, but bikini underware was never under consideration. Cheaper then a new barrel. Checking the for sale section for used ones here on the Hide.

    .224 Valkyrie

No worries Elite_KG. I have an early PSA barrel that was literally given to me so its quite possible it suffers from the early chamber issues. IDK. Just had to settle on the 80.5's or lose my mind! That said, the Valkire has grown on me and thinking about giving it another whirl with a...

    .224 Valkyrie

No drama here. Just sharing my experience. Same experience with my fiends 22" Rainer barrel in a totally different gun. The Berger calculator doesn't t me squat to me vs real world results.

    .224 Valkyrie

Best of luck! I had to fall back to 80.5's as I just could not get the 85.5's to group consistently. I suspect my 20" 1-7 twist shit barrel was just on the edge of being able to stabilize them. Sadness when I came to that realization. The 85.5 are bad ass.

    TMK’s For Field Use? Match/Deployment...

Yes as I'm well beyond the max book load for the 69 SMK using 24.4 gr of 8208 XBR. My notes indicate 23.2 grains is what I tested the 69 TMK's with. I only shoot the 69 SMK's out of my M4's with 16" barrels to extend their effective range and avoid any tipped cycling issues.

    TMK’s For Field Use? Match/Deployment...

The lost case capacity was not worth it to me vs using the non-tipped 69 smk. They are considerably longer and not anymore accurate out to 500 meters.

Sounds incestuous! Demand still that high? I live under a rock apparently.

    Berger 190 7mm Hybrids

Where are they hiding? Never fails these days. Every time you develop a good load the stuff you need is nowhere to be found.

    Help Me Develop a 308 AR-10 Load

Based on my testing in an AR10 platform with a 1-10 twist 18" barrel, the 155 Amax or the basic 168 BTHP from Hornady seem to perform well and the price is right. Given the variability in the AR10, it a giant rabbit hole chasing supreme LR accuracy IMHO. My use case is 600 yards on in.

    .224 Valkyrie

I'm also running 27.0gr of CFE223 but out of an AR with PSA 20" barrel. The rifle does have a full JP bolt setup and a SA adjustable gas block tuned for this load. I know this is really pushing it but damn it does shoot great. Took it out a few weeks ago in horrific wind and dust conditions...

Gunsmithing Peruvian Mauser 1932 bolt shroud question

Lariat: Only have the receiver and bolt. Thinking I will just use this shroud with an Timney Mauser replacement trigger which I think has its own self contained safety. MarshallDodge: This is my first Mauser action. Learning and fumbling through this. It will be interesting if I can pull...

Gunsmithing Peruvian Mauser 1932 bolt shroud question

Thanks Mk20. Looks like it could be an actual Mauser/FN commercial shroud. I suppose there is a trick of some kind to lock back the firing ping to disassemble given the lack of safety flag? Moving on to identifying the bolt next.

Gunsmithing Peruvian Mauser 1932 bolt shroud question

I was looking for a small ring mauser action for a 6.5x55 swede build and fucked up and bought this weird small ring k98 action. Its a rare action per my research. Only 5K rifles made for Peru. Chech Bruno Modelo 1932 carbine in 7.65mm. Can anyone tell why this bolt shroud does not have a...

    Best round for ar-10 .308?

The brass was the only redeeming quality off the PPU crap. To your point, reloads fine.

    Best round for ar-10 .308?

Terrible out of my 18" Ballistic Advantage barrel. The 155 Amax shows the best promise but I've reduce the load to the point where I may be compensating for my poor marksmanship skills. Granted its a cheap barrel. About to test four or five different 168 gr bullets next. The 168 SMK shoots...

    45-70 1st Time Loading

I'm waiting, waiting and still waiting on a new Ruger Marlin 45-70. Based on my results with Steel Valley Castings .358 and .431 Hi-Tek coated bullets, I'll be trying their 405gr bullet in the new rifle. $68.00 shipped for 250 of them. Their 44 Mag 240 gr bullet (pictured left and middle) is...

    308 ar-10 168 eldm imr4064

Following with interest in your results. I'm in search of a .308 caliber bullet that will work equally well in an AR10, FNFAL and M1 Garand. Ballistic tipped bullets not making the grade. Probably end up with a 168gr bullet based on testing thus far. Just got some IMR 4064 to try out. Have...
