Carl Zeiss Sports Optics to close shop

Presumably, that means they will either discontinue or outsource S5 scopes, V8 scopes and Victory HT and RF binoculars. I think everything else is already not made in Germany, so it should not be too impacted. Well, I am not sure where the spotting scopes are made. ILya

Steiner C35 Gen 2 - Initial range trips and first hunt - Updated 9/30 with third hunt

That sounds like a relatively common lack of practice problem. I am the same kind of jackass whether drunk or sober.

you missed one "k", so I did not see this. About a week or so before the get delivered to Annex. They'll check for any dimensional issues and, if all goes well, start sending them out a few days after. ILya

Did Steiner just quietly build the MPO we have all been asking for? H6xi

March 1.5-25x42 DFP. I do like the H6Xi 2-12x42. I wish the reticle was a little thicker in the center, but it is working better on low power than i thought it would. Especially in fading light with illumination on.

    New Burris XTR PS

As I spend more time with this scope, I sorta appreciate seeing the distance that I am shooting in front of me all the time. I think my wind calls are faster when I do not have to try to remember which plate I am on. ILya

Rifle Scopes March 5-42 Gen 2 PRS Edition

I have three Tangent's with the first one being one of the earliest they made. I've done some deeply uncivilized things to them and They've all gone back for service once (one for cleaning, one for an abuse related failure and the other was from an early 7-35x batch that had several scopes with...

    I Spy New Baby Razor G3 4-24

Delta is based in Poland, so they are a lot more prominent in Europe than here. They have been around for a while though, so they are not going anywhere. It is a family owned business and I know the owner. They are good people and they are growing at a good pace. ILya

Rifle Scopes March 5-42 Gen 2 PRS Edition

This mirage business is very interesting in that I have several different theories on what helps you see through the mirage and I do not have any sort of a good way to reconcile how it works theoretically. I found some academic materials on interaction between beam propagation and turbulence...

    Hensoldt 3,5-26x56 vs PMII

I do not know exactly how it work on that side of the pond, but here it is not all that uncommon for the specific units to have a couple of options of different optics. They go with what they prefer. Steiner has been very active in Europe with their M7Xi scopes, so I see them issued a fair...

    Hensoldt 3,5-26x56 vs PMII

3.5-26x56 Hensoldt was designed for a very specific set of requirements European military wanted. They wanted lots of clicks in a single turn, along with short overall length and broad mag range for use with clip-ons. I think the weird battery compartment also comes out of a requirement of...
