    Suppressors Form 4 wait time

Woo hoo! We're to April! Almost there... My check was cashed 4/2/13. At over 9 months now, this wait has been ridiculous.

Thughts on Long Range Accuracy Bipod?

I just got one in the mail. I haven't used it yet, but just holding it... it is very well machined. It just looks expensive. The real down side is the bulk. I am probably not a good judge as I have both Harris and Atlas on QD platforms and I find that I reach for the Harris more than the Atlas...

Rifle Scopes Has Premier Reticles fixed their Parallax binding issue?

The toggles were a great idea in theory. In practice, I have to zero, then wind the turret and shoot again to confirm that the toggle was locked down correctly, because it is not a lot of the time. If you spin the toggle too much, it won't lock all the way down. If you spin the toggle not...

    Terrapin.... will be..

What I don't get is that they knew the product costs up front... they must have not achieved the volume they anticipated. Unfortunately, the number of shooters who need to get to 800+ yards AND are willing to pay $2,000 for an rangefinder to support it must be smaller than they anticipated. I...

Rifle Scopes Has Premier Reticles fixed their Parallax binding issue?

I think this is why some people are having the problem and some aren't. I have had issues with my Premier, but not parallax binding and I have used Seekins as well as Leupold rings both torqued to 20 pounds. And yes, I know how to adjust parallax.

Sidearms & Scatterguns M&P 45 Grip Reduction and Stippling from DFC Review

He got it September 3, I got it back December 23. Shorter than most, but the website says 4 weeks. I don't think he updates it that often. Also, my experience with most of the good smiths is that they under estimate lead times, sometimes pretty significantly. There was a period of about a week...

Sidearms & Scatterguns M&P 45 Grip Reduction and Stippling from DFC Review

My apologies in advance for the crappy pictures. I had a review of the M&P 45 in the works, but I just got my M&P back from Diversified Firearm Concepts and was so excited, I wanted to post the results quickly. I have not had the opportunity to fire this yet, but lots of dry fire tells me what I...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Ed Brown SF

The softness of the finish is more like a feature. It bends rather than chips like some other finishes might. It is a good tradeoff between durability and corrosion resistance for concealed carry where your body sweat might cause some oxidation.

    Rifle Scopes AR mount options

Maybe I forgot to mention what a pain in the ass it is to to switch scopes around getting the right torque specs? QD is just easier. I can also just switch Harris Bipods from rifle to rifle using the sling stud connection... nobody does that. It is a pain in the ass. That is why most people put...

determining if I got a "good" Leica CRF 1600B

I sold my 1600(A) for a Terrapin, but in some ways, I wished I still had the Leica. The ergonomics are better and it is more compact. My problem came when I tried to range relatively small objects at close to moderate distances and had a difficult time getting a consistent reading without making...

Becoming a Competent Marksman: How Would You Invest Your Time and Money

Obviously, you need to have the skills. But I kick people's ass in my club on the 22LR at 100 yards because I have a tack driving rifle and use expensive ammo. There are guys at my skill level that if I swapped gear with them, would kick my ass. Somebody who gets enough trigger time can get to...

    Rifle Scopes AR mount options

Not true. QD is helpful in saving money by using one optic across multiple platforms. I went to a QD setup for my bipods a long time ago and I own two bipods: a Harris and an Atlas for 4 guns that are set up to take them. And I can choose when I want to use which bipod. Same with scopes. I hate...

Becoming a Competent Marksman: How Would You Invest Your Time and Money

Even within the shooting sports, the % that is the individual and the % that is the equipment changes. Benchrest is a very large % the equipment. Take a pistol sport like bowling pin shooting... that is pretty much all of the individual. If you look at F-class, the 10-ring is one MOA and the...

21st Century Adjustable Seating Depth Primer Tool

I have the Sinclair tool and this looks to be more user friendly. To adjust the seating depth with the Sinclair, you use a bunch of different shims, and it still doesn't necessarily get it right where I want it. As to the Lee, I don't know. Some have theorized that proper seating of primers...

    Lasik

That would be lower on my list of priorities. My number one concern is that they use the latest technology. Experience mattered a lot more when they were using microkeratomes (oscillating razors) to make the flap. Computers guide the whole process. The main use of the surgeon is to identify and...

    Lasik

They can do it, but generally it usually costs you some far sighted vision. One of the things they do is correct one eye and leave the other eye uncorrected. It sounds like it would drive me crazy, but it seems to work for a lot of people. I spoke with my opthamologist friend. He said that I...

Is a rangefinder a "necessary" part of LRS?

Yes. I tried using subtensions, but beyond 300-400 yards, you need very large objects to get your ranges right using subtensions and a mildot master. Google Earth is OK as long as you have appropriate landmarks, but you can't just set a target in a field and expect to see it on Google Earth. For...

    Lasik

One of my best friend is an opthamologist and was trying to get me to do LASIK. He wears glasses. I told him no way. He got the procedure done 6 months ago. I had him laser me last week. It is pretty crazy. So far, I do have halos in low light and have pretty bad dry eyes. He says both will get...

    Lead!

It will have a dramatic impact on bullet pricing... because idiots just need one good reason to store up another 10,000 bullets that they will never shoot. The same reason that people were buying up hundreds of pmags in anticipation of a magazine ban that was never on the table. Who will go...

    Suppressors Form 4 wait time

Awesome! They cashed my check 4/02/13, so it looks like I have about another month. Probably plus a few days for Christmas and New Year Holidays.
