    ATS vs ACE muzzle brake

ACE performs a little better than a Sidewinder, at least on my rifle, with much less concussion. I still need to double plug with the ACE, but I don't feel beat to shit after being on the range with it. I ran a Maverick for the last year and a half, trying to get away from the noise (was...

Wait.... I'd pay money to see that. Can we make that happen?

Tracking strong/weak would imply that you’re getting more or less (strong or weak) movement in the erector per click than expected.

Redding dies, too, for calibers they make. I ran into it initially with 6.5 Creed. No one made a small base die for it - was trying to figure out other options - but didn’t want to set my shoulders way back, either. I forget where I came across the .45 ACP die trick - here or...

I ran my numbers at 90 degrees (vs 52) - which should pull you down to about a 2mph change crossing .5 mil with the 108.. and I'd guess about 3mph with the DTAC (same as A-Tip). Don't have my Kestrel in front of me to do it myself, but looks like that'd line up. But at 1000, you've got what, 550...

DTACs weren't part of my analysis (at the time, they were seemingly less available than berger 109s) - but to do apples to apples - what's the spread between W1 and W2 on your Kestrel, there? To be clear, I'm not saying DTACs are in some way inferior (or any other bullet, for that matter). By...

What's really enlightening is looking at how much of a wind change will push you off a target at a given distance. I don't really care what number I have to dial on the elevation turret (as long as its consistent) - and I've learned not to care what the exact number I have to dial/hold for wind...

For what it's worth, you actually can have your gunsmith lengthen the throat, if desired, using a throating reamer. Obviously, if you had a .170 FB, you couldn't get to a .120 without setting the barrel back, but going longer is relatively easy.

    ZCO doesn’t keep zero

I'll say this. Last week, I had a problem with my 5-27... a user induced problem. I dropped a note on Thursday (holiday), and it was responded to and handled in less than 24 hours - parts on the way to me now. (I chowdered a turret lock screw... yes, I'm an idiot)

I wonder how much "thermal shift" equals "slap drift"?

I know which match you were at... LOL. 100yd rimfire benchrest targets are no joke, even at 50 yards. It's been pretty well demonstrated that changing environmental conditions can change the apparent zero of a scope - this thread has one example...

Yeah, they are... And it depends on how the die works, vs your shoulder bump, too. If you've got a die that uses a neck bushing (or no bushing), and you set the die to only bump .001-.002, you might not be sizing the lower most part of the case... And I've even had this issue w/ SAC...

Haven't gotten into my 2nd GT barrel, yet, so I haven't seen it there, but definitely seen it with other cartridges - especially when swapping barrels. Basically, the very bottom of the case isn't getting sized down and eventually expands just a bit. The fix for .308 case head size cases is...

    6GT, 25x47, or other?

I'm also in the "6GT Slow" camp - I run a Berger 108 at 2820 - 35.5-36.0 of H4350. Typically, ES of <= 15, and SD <= 5. Groups routinely .1 mil or better. I'm nowhere near max pressure with that load. Load dev with that combo for me looked like "random charge weight, random seat depth... huh...

    ZCO doesn’t keep zero

OP - here's the thing. If you're looking for help, ask for the help you want. Your opening post was just a "poor me" complaint. That's what drew the initial heat. Let's say I'm in your boat, and I need some help from the forum. My post looks more like this: ---- Title: Need some help with a...

    spotting misses

The other side of that coin is - if you don't know them, you don't know if you can trust the info they're giving you, either. There are so many people who just simply don't know how to spot, or interpret what they're seeing - and those people will have you in all kinds of wrong places by...
