    Photos POF

Re: POF Yep the laser is a AN/PEQ-2. It is IR only and can bee seen through NVG like the PVS-14 (which I also have) to lase and strike targets in low light. It also has an IR illuminator which works as a flash light in the Ir spectrum. The can is an AAC M4-2000 and yes it has had some...

Suppressors How many people use Quicken for there Trust?

Re: How many people use Quicken for there Trust? I found a free generic one through google and used it, changed us to them and we to they. Have 4 stamps now and no issues. It cost me nothing and the notary was free as well. But if you feel the need and quicken is not for you, I recommend...

    Suppressors Silencer design

Re: Silencer design I have dabbled a bit with my lathe from time to time, I own 2 AAC cans. Are the baffles made of aluminum as well? I would suggest that the most over looked job of the can is to cool the gasses before they exit. As aluminum does not efficiently do this, its expected that...

    Suppressors Suppressor question

Re: Suppressor question I am not familiar with your specific can. I use AAC since they are just up the street. When I fist got my M4-2000 I had some end cap strikes and notices distinct key holing on the targets at 25-200 meters. Bust after 3 mags the end cap opened up and I began to get some...

    Photos Bad Hair Day

Re: Bad Hair Day Yep this was 2001 winter, somewhere other than the US. I ended up removing about 60% of the jute and add more burlap. It came out great in the end then we got redeployed to another hole in the ground and the suite was not needed, gave it to another team member after the mission.

Gunsmithing Bushmaster 16" Upper: Bolt & round issues

Re: Bushmaster 16" Upper: Bolt & round issues two things immediately come to mind. first, the reason your bolt carrier is "dragging" is maybe the lower parts kit is installed incorrectly. If the either the hammer or trigger spring is installed incorrectly, it can cause the hammer to not...

    Suppressors Why 9mm?

Re: Why 9mm? I think everyone has said it already but its a NATO thing. The same reason we use 308 in the m-24 or 40x instead of say lupa or 300 winmag. but I have noticed a change in policy regarding NATO compliance. For instance the use of ballistic tip or hallow points in .223 for Super...

Gunsmithing Chrome Bolt in AR15 = Insufficient Headspace?

Re: Chrome Bolt in AR15 = Insufficient Headspace? Should be fine to shoot. You can get a head space gage for fire no fire from brownells but I would think with the setup you listed, all will work fine. Wear eye pro and you should be good to go.

    Gunsmithing Ejection issues ar 15

Re: Ejection issues ar 15 Ryan, stake the yourself. Just torque them down tight (you can google or call the manufacture to get the exact torque) then use a auto punch or even a flat tip screwdriver to stake them. Two points is good but three is better. No nead to pay anyone and no need to...

Gunsmithing difference between m4 and ar15

Re: difference between m4 and ar15 Ok, lets assume all ARs are basically the same. The major difference between the AR-15 and the M-4 is the internal parts that provide the 3 round burst. If you look at the outside of the lower receiver, the M-4 has an additional hole for the different parts...

    Gunsmithing Cerakote vs. Duracoat

Re: Cerakote vs. Duracoat Personally I use KG metal coatings 2400 milspec series. Its a Teflon infused air brushed on paint that is baked in one hour to cure. I ended up building my own oven to do long guns and the like. I have also used duracoat and found it to be easy to use but will wipe...

Re: Looking for concealed suggestions As a cop and a Soldier, I am partial to 9mm +p+. I am also a die hard fan of Sig Sauer. So I am not here to bash on other guns but shot a sig and see what you are missing. As for a good conceal and carry, I recommend the sig 229 in 9mm. If you are not...
