Re: 4000MR
I'll be looking forward to your range report, I'm not sure but I think since its a slow burning powder, you might be able to push it a tiny bit more, is your load compressed? I hear compressing spherical powder can cause accuracy issues.
Re: Savage, Tikka or Weatherby Build?
I have a weatherby and a savage, and to me the savage is your best choice out of the three to build on. my savage is the most accurate rifle I've ever fired, the weatherby is definitely accurate but not at the level my savage is. I do love the design of...
Re: Best hunting 7mm-08 bullet for 18" barrel
I don't think you would be able to push the 140's at 2800fps out of an 18" tube, but 2700 is doable, some Reloader 17 ought to get you there, about 46gr. behind a 140gr. Hornady SST is what I use.

Re: New Tactical/Hunter Build
Well, if this is going to partly be a hunting build, wouldnt you want something a little lighter? Maybe change the profile of the barrel to a magnum or heavy sporter contour and get Mcmillan to make your stock with their edge technology fill. That way it might be...

Re: .284 winchester velocity
It does actually. Looks like it stays supersonic a lot longer than the 180's at 2900fps, anyone know the lowest possible velocity a Berger bullet needs to expand?
Re: Need a decent lightweight hunting scope
Anyone know the adjustment range for the 3x9 SWFA scope? I'm also looking at VX-3 scopes, they seem pretty light and a little better than the VX-2, anyone know the adjustment range on these? I'm looking specifically at the 3.5-10 and the 4.5-14...

Re: Left hand Rifles - Can't find one
How about savage rifles:

The picture is of a right handed rifle, but the description is that of a lefty.
Hey everyone, I am putting together a lightweight build on a Savage and would like to know what scopes would go good with this build. Magnification and reticles don't matter, what does matter is that it is light weight, has decent elevation and turrets, and be around $500, anyone have any...
Re: Can someone get me some 284 or 7SAUM dummy rounds?
how long is the 284? Also, what's the base to ogive length? what kind of velocity are you getting with it as opposed to the 7saum?
Re: savage accutrigger or rem 700
The accutrigger is a great factory trigger, in most cases you need not replace it since it is clean, crisp, and light. Savage actions may not be as smooth as Remington actions, but they are not as rough as most would imply, especially with a few...
Re: Can someone get me some 284 or 7SAUM dummy rounds?
Well, for one I am a very visual person, I would like to see how they compare next to each other. Second, if I decide to choose one, I would need a dummy round to get a custom chamber for my long action as well.
