    Sub 500yrd 308

I shoot 175g SIERRA Matchkings and 155gr our to 1,200 yards. Either will work fine. Inside of 1,000 yards the 168 SMK is also a very accurate and easy to load bullet.

    Proof Research

I experience about a $300 uplift on the proofs but I hear the prices are dropping slightly.

For the cool factor ... that’s why you by them ... They hammer, but so do the others.

Some real world results - a light dual purpose match/hunting rig I built with a proof barrel: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/golite-prs-build-by-milehigh-its-a-shooter.6871206/post-6897374

    Proof Research

The proof barrels are cool and you get additional “range cred” with them making other shooters slightly more envious than if you show up with one of the other barrels.

    Proof Research

No different (better or worse) than Bartlein, Kreiger, Obermeyer, Lilja, Lothar Walther, Rock, Shilen ... I have them all. The Proof breakthrough is that they don’t drift or walk as they heat up like my christensen carbon wrapped barrels did. They are worth the $300 extra for saving weight...

    Tripod connection...rail or saddle/vice?

Did both. Rail is significantly better. Get a Saddle or vice if you have guilt and feel the need to provide a platform for other shooters.

    Current 168 FGMM powder

I have heard that they have used IMR 4064 and RE-15 (or something similar) and go back and forth. Both powders are capable of producing outstanding accuracy in a .308 using 168 and 175gr sierra matchkings.

    Fancy 6mm’s vs the .243

I shoot a .243 and 6x47 for PRS matches. The .243 is in an AI AT and the 6x47 is a custom MileHigh gun. Both shoot better than 1/4 moa. The 6x47 shoots berger 105's at 3,090 fps, the .243 shoots them at 3,180 fps but will start to blow primers when the barrel warms up in 14+ shot strings. In...

    GreenMill "long-range" .22 match tomorrow (4/20) - Denver Area
