    AI/AT compatibility with AX short action

    The magazines are different. The AX magazine has a front lip on it. Fits into a notch and helps lock it more securely into the rifle. That said, everybody uses AW/AT mags in the AX without issue, but due to the lip the AX mag will not fit in the AW/AT. Some people just file it off.
