Groups go to CRAP after trimming brass

If you are trimming and create a burr like you are describing, your run-out will likely be very high and could affect accuracy. Also, if you have that much of a burr and press a bullet down through it, you are likely skiving the base of the bullet significantly which can also affect accuracy...

    Adrenaline Rush @ 200 mph

Used to ride like that back in the day. I remember the rush coming off the ground with the hammer down but after cleaning up a few as an EMT and getting married, I walked away with no regrets. Still, it's cool to watch, thanks for posting. Dying is not fun to watch....very sobering.

    Shooting Prone With Glasses

Noticed that Rob and I appeared to be running similar style stocks but his cheek piece is lower. Today when I went out to shoot, I lowered my adjustment all the way down. I went more to a jaw weld than a cheek weld but the groups were good and my eye more centered in my eye glass frames. Not...

    Kestrel 4500nv Applied Ballistics?

In my opinion yes and I did not go with the BT option. I got the PC interface and it is very easy to use. AllKestrel.com had a bundle sale on when I got mine which gave me more items for the same money. I'm not really in to electronic gadgets but the Kestrel was not hard to figure out and...

    Shooting Prone With Glasses

Rob01 - I wear Oakley glasses when shooting and the frames fit and hold position very well. My problem is not magnification but loss of clarity due to an increasing astigmatism in my right eye. Prescription glasses help this and yes, Oakley offers prescription glasses but at a price that is more...

    Shooting Prone With Glasses

My vision is getting to where I need glasses but in trying different styles of frames I find that I'm always looking over the top of the glass when I'm trying to shoot prone. Any recommendations on something that works?

Gunsmithing Bench Rest Cocking Piece for R700

Thanks - figured there was a reason behind the design. Got my old 700 out and was looking at the how the cocking piece cycles when the bolt closes, .030 might make it feel very different.

Gunsmithing Bench Rest Cocking Piece for R700

I saw on the PTG website that they offer a "bench rest" cocking piece for the 700 actions. It appears that the stop has has been moved back .030 so I'm thinking to goal is to reduce lock time and the force of the impact of the firing pin slamming home and potentially disrupting the sight...

GA Precision Templar V2 Action price

Defiance Machine actions make a great base for a custom rifle. I think they have put some good thought and design work into the way the extraction cam works and they cycle very smoothly.

Gunsmithing Action blue print question for the Professionals

I have a rifle built by Chris before the wheels came off...very accurate with good workmanship. If it shoots and the price is right, I would think you would be fine.

    Engraving SBR

Trust name and location on the side on the lower that is blank. Usually the opposite side of the magwell from where the mfg stamps their name, serial number, location, etc. The law states your engraving must be "conspicuously placed" on the portion of the frame or receiver where the serial...

    Engraving SBR

I talked to the NFA before I did mine and they were very helpful. The trust name & location goes on the lower at least .004 deep, my local machine shop did it for $25 once I had the paper work approved. I painted with Krylon...looks like new.
