    Tikka T3 2 stage trigger??

You still can but you have to call the Sako tech support line first and get the current Sako part number. Then call Brownells and talk to their special order department. I looked into it in April, but decided to pass for now. Three + month lead time and over $550 for the trigger. i will be...

    Gunsmithing Non free-floating to free-floating

Generally all my rifle barrels are free floated and shoot well, but I do have one ultra light carbon fiber stocked rifle that weighs less than 5 lbs that has the barrel bedded all the way to the tip of the forend. It also shoots well. It shoots so well that I don't want to mess with it. Since...

Gunsmithing How can I mount a bipod on this rifle

You may want to look at the bipods made by RPS. I have my eye on one of their titanium versions. https://rifle-precision-system.com/index.html

    TRG 42 magazine

Thanks, they look to be real close. Probably within the tolerance for bent sheet metal. I think I will order one. If it doesn't work out I'm sure I can find a buyer for it in the PX.

    TRG 42 magazine

Does anyone know if a Sako TRG 42 - 300 win mag magazine will fit into a 338 Lapua magazine well? Thinking about a possible switch barrel / switch bolt TRG. Or if someone with a TRG 42 300 win mag could post the length of the magazine body it would greatly help. Thanks.

    ELEY Practical Rimfire Challenge

I was using a Vortex Viper PST 4-16 SFP in 25 MOA rings. Some stages I used hold overs, others I dialed. Next time I will think a little more about stage strategy. I know I could have done better because there were multiple stages where I ended up with 2 - 3 rounds still in the mags. With just a...

Sorry your having problems, but glad you figured it out.

Gunsmithing Changed barrel, now headspace issues.

Quick test for you. Put the bolt in without gauges in the chamber. Screw the barrel in till it stops and you can just work the bolt with the chamber empty. Then insert the GO gauge. If you now can't close the bolt it's a matter of backing the barrel out to find the sweet spot and you most...

    Lightest bolt gun made?

Another vote for New Ultralight Arms Co or Forbes Rifles. I have a Forbes 20b in 308 and at 4.75 #s without scope it's real pleasant to carry and shoots well also.

    ELEY Practical Rimfire Challenge

I agree with you Trigger Monkey. I was running a bolt gun with 10 round mags and didn't feel out gunned at all on any stage by the semi autos. This match reinforced my strengths and highlighted my weaknesses, which is exactly why I wanted to shoot the match in the first place. It was an awesome...

    Sako Quad Magazines

Both rifle and mags were purchased within the last month from different vendors. The spacer on all mags is silver, I can't tell any difference between them. Perhaps it's ammo related? I was running Eley Edge ammo in the match over the weekend and didn't baby it at all. It was definately a...

    Sako Quad Magazines

I recently bought a quad range in 22 LR and 3 extra mags. Haven't really put a ton of rounds through them, but I'm running them all with 10 rounds no problems. What caliber are yours? Any chance they have made changes to the mags in the past 6 years?

    ELEY Practical Rimfire Challenge

If you missed this match, you missed out on a really good time. Thanks for putting this on. I can't wait to get my hands on some of those Light React flashers. They were reliably indicating hits on steel at 300 yds with .22 LR.

Gunsmithing Length of indicator tip for chambering

I'm no pro, but I use a tip on mine that is about 1.4 (2x normal length) and I know more than one pro smith that does as well. Just remember your graduations will be .0002 with that long of a tip. I like it because I pre drill the chamber and can fit the indicator body into the chamber so the...

Gunsmithing Cerakoting barreled action - oil bleed out?

I've done 2 of my rifles and didn't like the thought of oil possibly bleeding out under the finish as it cured. One took 4 soaks with bake the other 5 till there was no more oil bleed out.

    Range Report Subsonic Hunting rds

Lehigh defense controlled fracturing rounds have been by far the most effective subsonic hunting rounds I've tried to date. I have tried outlaw state and would use the Lehigh defense any day. Way more lethal.

What's your favorite App for 2017 (iOS & Android)?

I like AB for the simple fact you can back up your data and restore it after you drop your phone in a lake.

    AB gurus - a question with set-up

Max, you're off by a factor of 10. At 100 meters one mil = 10 cm. One click on a 1/10 mil scope moves the poi 1 cm. His scope takes 4 clicks to move the poi the same distance. To the OPs original question, the best way I can figure in AB is to set the units to MILS and the value to 1/20 Then...

Optimal barrel contour for a do all rifle

I really like the Medium Palma as well. Seems to be heavy enough to not heat up too fast, but not too heavy to lug around.

Since the Old Hide is Back... I need a new Rimfire

Looks like a fun rifle, but I've never seen one in the flesh around here.
