    As above .308 bolt face so simple from that perspective. 12.7x48 sounds interesting ? Are you running it on an SRS? Does it mag feed ? The idea of a long fat round worried me re: feeding. Tony

    As ever great info here, I think you just saved me a ton of trouble! Any detail/pics you can share on the magazine changes ? Did you look at anything longer like the .450 Marlin for example? I had not thought of resizing bullets, that certainly increases the options for the Bushmaster. Tony

    I’ve mused on that and also .450 Marlin, in my mind I see potential feeding problems with a long fat round hitting the upper chamber before it clears the mag in the DT but I have no practical experience to base that on. Also no experience of belted rounds but that does not feel like much of a leap.

    Thanks, I appreciate the info. Is this a third party solution or Vectronix? There is a Bluetooth adapter listed in the PLRF section of Potomac's catalogue along with the cables etc. I have never heard of it before but unfortunately it is almost a thousand bucks...

    Come on that's just being a tease :-) Any more info on timing? I assume an external device connected to the plrf port, will it have a remote trigger? If this is anytime soon I will hold off from dropping $350 on a cable. Tony

    Pity. You'd hope a 10 Rd design with a nested follower in a straight line config could be made reliable though. That said, I have enough $ in SRS, 2 bolts and 3 barrels with more to come that $200 for new skins feels pretty minor..... Tony

    ..... Magpuls for those that are interested, need to be softened in boiling water then some leverage but they will go on. The mag still drops free in my normal shooting position but will not with the monopod completely retracted. I can't get that low so a non issue for me.

    .... This is the Surefire design I was thinking of. After a little digging I found it uses a very clever nested follower - that's a lot of R&D cost. They retail for circa $120 but with a huge addressable market. What would we be willing to pay for something like this in a short .308...
