    I am gathering parts for my next build and am likely to be using another Rem 700 action as the starting point. Cost aside what are the thoughts between using a recent action vs an older action? Is there anything in favour of an older action from a metalurgical or original machining quality...

    Re: $400 budget for rimfire glass.....Which glass? I have an SS 10x on my CZ and it's a great combination although you will need to plan your mounts carefully as the large eyepiece can tight with the CZ bolt if you need a low sight line. TC
