    Rifle Scopes USO vs Nightforce?

Re: USO vs Nightforce? Personally, I would go with the USO 3.7-17x and the EREK knob. I've owned an NXS 5.5-22x56, and I always preferred the EREK adjustment to the Nightforce adjustments.

Rifle Scopes Anyone need a nice Kollmorgen?

Ran across this ad on another site, and I have never seen one in this condition. Looks to be absolutely mint, but I am not sure it will quite bring close to $5k. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=303293577

Re: .260 Rem Match ammo from Federal. Great news....now if they will only start offering 7mm-08 GFMM with 150gr SMKs!

    7mm shooters....150 SMKs vs 162 AMAX bullets

How does the 7mm 150gr SMK bullet compare with the 162gr AMAX, specifically out of a 22" barrel? Is one typically more accurate than the other? I have a few hundred of each to load in my 7mm-08, and I am curious is anyone has had better luck with one over the other. Thanks!

Rifle Scopes Recoil lug on scope base...yes or no?

Re: Recoil lug on scope base...yes or no? I've decided to go with the Weaver for now. Both bases had a gap in the rear, so either would have to be bedded before it could be used. I've never bedded one, so I figured it would be safer to bed the cheaper of the bases, just in case I screw...

Rifle Scopes Recoil lug on scope base...yes or no?

I've almost finished with my 7mm-08 build, and have all the components in place. I'm using a trued/blueprinted 700 action with a 22" Bartlein barrel, bolted in an AICS 2.0 stock. My scope is a US Optics SN3 3.2-17x44 with 34mm tube, mounted in TPS medium rings. I have two bases at my disposal...

Have questions about which gun to buy?????

Re: Have questions about which gun to buy????? Why limit your choices to just those three cartridges? Personally, I would go with a 6.5 Creedmoor or 7mm-08. The .300 WM is just gong to beat you up on the bench, and is an expensive round to load. .243 certainly offers the best BC of the...

AICS stock cheek weld & mag question

Re: AICS stock cheek weld & mag question Well, I ended up going with a set of steel TPS medium rings. They arrived yesterday, and I was able to get everything together last night. Height isn't perfect, but they are usable right now. The cheek piece has to be in the absolute lowest...

Rifle Scopes Another +1 for US Optics

I just picked up a 3.2-17 SN3 off the classifieds, which came with the EREK 1/2 MOA elevation and scalloped #1 M40 style windage turret. I prefer the standard #1 turrets, as they can be protected by a screw on dust cover. So, I called up Becky to order a replacement, and they are sending me...

    Any reason I shouldn't go 7-08

AICS stock cheek weld & mag question

Re: AICS stock cheek weld & mag question I picked up my AICS today, and the first thing I can say is "WOW"!!! It is certainly one impressive piece of equipment! I haven't had a chance to check cheek weld, as I am still waiting on the scope and rings to arrive. I ordered medium rings, which...

Rifle Scopes US Optics 30mm vs 34/35mm tubes

Re: US Optics 30mm vs 34/35mm tubes Jeff, thanks for the response! On a 3.2-17x SN3, how much more elevation adjustment would you see with a 34mm tube over that of a 30mm (with EREK)?

AICS stock cheek weld & mag question

Re: AICS stock cheek weld & mag question I've actually had good luck with TPS steel rings, not so much with their aluminum alloy rings. That being said, I'm not too concerned ordering a set from SWFA, as their customer service is impeccable. My main concern now isn't so much which ring to...

Rifle Scopes US Optics 30mm vs 34/35mm tubes

Quick question, do US Optics scopes with 34/35mm tubes offer any more elevation adjustment over a 30mm tube? More specifically, would a 34mm tubed SN3 3.2-17 have more elevation travel than the same scope with a 30mm main tube?

AICS stock cheek weld & mag question

Re: AICS stock cheek weld & mag question Thanks for the info. I'm trying to decide between the following two rings: http://swfa.com/TPS-Tactical-Scope-34mm-Rings-P41913.aspx --or-- http://swfa.com/TPS-Tactical-Scope-34mm-Rings-P41914.aspx

AICS stock cheek weld & mag question

Re: AICS stock cheek weld & mag question My concern isn't so much whether the bell will clear the barrel, but rather if the cheek piece (in lowest position) will be too high to use low rings. I know I can get by with low rings and 20 MOA rail on a HS Precision 5R stock, but not sure on the...

AICS stock cheek weld & mag question

I'm buying my first AICS stock, a 2.0, and have a few questions. First, how does the cheek weld on these compare with a standard stock, such as a non adjusting McMillan or HS Precision 5R? More specifically, with the AICS at its lowest position, is it still pretty much the same height as the...
