    Are you talking about the BDL Edge stocks for a hunting rifle?? I've not used that one, I tend to use the Classic pattern in Edge which I really like for a hunting based rifle. The Classic or the Hunters Edge are the 2 I've used most, nice stocks.

    +1 Since the OP stated this would also be a hunting rifle its hard not to like a Tikka. Shoot it as is or drop it in a stock to your liking and you are good to go. I have a Tikka Superlite 7-08 in a Hunters Edge stock and its a great hunting rig IMHO.

    If you want to make your weight, I'd go no more than 2b which still might be tough depending on the stock you use. I have a model 700/2b/McMillan Edge stock build .243 that is also fluted and I'm at 6 lbs 5 ozs for the rifle only and thats with a ADL bottom metal.

    Have you considered a Barrett Fieldcraft?? They seem to have a great rep for being accurate and enough room in the mag box for loading long bullets without issues. Weigh just a little more than 5 lbs naked. I'm not a huge fan of the stock but its a lot of rifle for the $$$.
