LPVO or red dot for general purpose and SHTF truck gun

I know a guy that was involved in a self defense shoot inside his house. He used his shotgun with 00 buck and shot the guy twice at around 14 yards. He hit him once in the chest and once in the face/head. The dirtbag survived, but he is bound to a wheelchair and shits in a bag. Just pointing out...

    Noise canceling headphones

JBL durability kinda sucks for their headphones. We have a friend that used to work for them. He would give my coworkers free headphones and ear buds all the time. The ear buds had pairing issues or one would work and the other wouldn't. The ear cups on the headphones fall apart quickly. Just be...

    Rifle Scopes Leupold Premier Reticle

I have a golden ring spotter they did with the FFP football mil dot reticle. I never was able to find exact data for the actual size of the football mils and spacing. I assumed 1 mil spacing from the center of the dot to center of next dot and .75 spacing between the ends. I bought the spotter...

    Noise canceling headphones

Bose over the ear are the way to go for air travel. I still have the original pair from when they released the noise canceling. I think they are on gen 3 or 4 now. Good sound quality and no aircraft noise when you fly. Just be prepared to replace the ear cups every few years. The leather or fake...

Geissele 6 ARC in service with SOCCOM, some hands on comments.

I am not sure. I just don't remember all of the details of every brand they tested and how many cycles they lasted. I just remember the G stopped testing at 125k and nothing else even came close for standard DI bolts on the market at the time.

Rainer arms ultra match ar-15 barrel damage

The same friend that worked at Surefire said they sent some parts out to be S-Line? coated because it's supposed to be excellent and applied at lower temps. The parts came back soft and had issues. The applicator place wasn't sure what temp they applied it at...so could have been just that...

Paging TonyTheTiger 14.6 Rifle Gas Barrels

My buddy has that 14.8 siphon barrel. Seems to run perfectly for him. Pretty soft shooter from the little I ran it. I thought about getting one then realized I don't need another 5.56.

Rainer arms ultra match ar-15 barrel damage

That TiN coating is applied at around 800F. Maybe that is creating an issue with the hardness?

Geissele 6 ARC in service with SOCCOM, some hands on comments.

When my buddy was working at Surefire they built a rig to test 5.56 bolts. They had varying results of "milspec" bolts lasting from 12-25k, some longer. They tried several bolts on the market made of 9310 or other materials trying to find the "best" for something they were working on. Not many...

California Gun Registration and Liability Insurance

CA is a failed state. I've been saving money to make my escape from this place. It's not going to get any better.

    Gunsmithing Stuck scope base screw

With a Torx there are times where you may be able to pound the next size larger Torx bit into it. Use some heat to heat the screw and the threadlock should return to a liquid state and spin it out.

    Cantilever scope mounts.

Reptilia and Badger Ordnance both make mounts with different ring cap mounting options, as well as other mounting options on the mount. There are companies like Parker Mountain Machine also making replacement caps to mount other optics. I think Primary Arms is making a mount and ring cap that...

BCM MCMR handguard and 6arc proof carbon barrel compatibility

I'm running a 20" Proof carbon under the 15" MCMR with an Aero adjustable block. You may need to take some material off the threads on MLOK attachments depending on where it is on the handguard/barrel.

$50.00 an hour minimum wage ......what could go wrong?

The local Taco Bell to me is now using AI for the drive through ordering. It's super annoying, but it seems to be very accurate. At the window is some moron that can barely read that just hands you the food and takes payment. Long gone are the days of high school kids working jobs like fast food.

    Zco lpvo???

I was told there were a couple of reasons some of the vendors were not at SHOT. Part of it was they had booths built based on the previous layout of the show. The layout changed and now the booth size and space was altered, so the millions they spent on the booth that would not fit. Instead of...

Need some troubleshooting help: Bad Gas Block or Out of Spec Bolt Catch

Carbon around the gas block is a sign of leakage but can be "normal" and typically will seal up after some rounds. If the BCG isn't efficient it can cause some issues since you aren't getting a good gas seal there since the bolt and carrier function like a piston. I would try and measure the...
